  • AMD: Higher Professional Graphics Share, Increasing Semi-Custom Revenue And New APU Lineup To Drive Growth [View article]
If it gets anywhere near 3.20 in the next couple years, it's no longer worth buying.

As for 4.20 into earnings, I'm with ya there and would buy some there. I think that's the level where we'll stay fairly flat or +- 5% at open on Friday.

  • AMD Is A Buy Going Into Earnings [View article]
Today's your chance if you want out. I'll probably shed some shares before earnings, but keeping the majority of my long position as strong guidance could trigger a pop to $5+.

  • Bitcoin/Litecoin Miners Leave AMD And Nvidia In The Dust [View article]
Totally agree. If AMD hadn't abandoned laptop GPUs in favor of APUs, NVIDIA would be taking a beating right now. Sounds like AMD will be remedying their laptop line by fall though, so looking good for GPU growth in Q3-Q4.

  • AMD Looses Puma At Mobile Computing [View article]
Great article. Reading the list of Lenovo designs for a second time clued me in on something — the Z40 and Z50 weren't mentioned. I'm cautiously optimistic that Kaveri mobile will make its debut in May in the Z40.

    From Lenovo's April 16th press release (

"the laptops offer extreme performance with up to AMD’s newest, highest performance APU processor with up to R7 discrete Radeon graphics."

"The Z40 will be available beginning in May via"

Kaveri (?) with Full HD, optional GPU, under 1", please say it's so.

  • AMD: A Preview Of The Kaveri Release [View article]
If the A10-7800 + HD 7750 numbers from the Baidu source last week hold water (benches here:, I'll have a Kaveri chip and R7-260x in my home system by this weekend.

    We'll find out soon enough!

  • Next Gen Game Consoles: Winners And Losers [View article]
Good luck replicating 8GB of _unified_ GDDR5 in your high end PC gaming rig. Once Kaveri is out and games are ported from PS4 & Xbox to PC, then the high end PC will have a fighting chance — but that's the beauty of AMD securing these deals, a nice revenue tail from consoles and momentum for HSA through game developer support.
