  • Fresh U.S. solar tariffs imposed on Chinese exporters [View news story]
There is no settlement unless Chinese suppliers take it to the Court of Intnernational Trade. Anti-dumping duties are to protect the US manufacturers and the tariff rates are based off questionares and averages received from the Chinese suppliers. If they (US interests) can prove they have been harmed, then they impose additional duties, which is what they have done. If the Chinese suppliers could prove no harm in CIT, then the rates/refunds would be adjusted. This is typical of only certain suppliers that dispute the findings, which is usually minimal. Long story short, the U.S. Government is never on the hook...

  • Crossroads Systems: Valuable IP And Niche Product Could Lead To Significant Upside [View article]
$82Bln in their 3rd party industry sales estimates due to patent infringement, yet CRDS can't even produce a fraction of those revenues. Seems like a weak argument in my opinion and not something that should be thrown into a conference call at this point.

Thanks for the comment Mark. I really enjoy your articles/research and have acknowledged your rating system based on risk. You do a good job of categorizing it.

Take it for what it's worth, but at the end of the day a company's working capital determines if a company can meet both their short and long-term commitments.

    Keep hitting home runs!

TPCS is what you get when your methodology doesn't follow balance sheets and trends ;) and when you have a company trying to specialize in too many things.

B&H?, I think your SA name gives true meaning to your investing style, you don't know whether to buy and hold?

Mark predicted one of the best tech picks of 2013 and while it was a momentum stock, it made me a lot of money. When HIMX started topping out and headed south, I trimmed back 2/3 my position to limit my exposure and right before recent earnings I sold off the remaining 1/3 due to the technical bear that was forming.

Panic and fear is a market psychology that most analysts can't predict, but the fundamentals with HIMX are still there. Also, the delay with GLASS didn't help the stock and neither did market concerns. Instead of looking at it as a downfall, if your thesis remains the same, double up your position after the drop. You can't expect someone to give you the insight without doing your homework considering so many variables.

2014 is a completely different playing field than 2013. Fiscal policy is different, investor confidence is different, and the market is extremely volatile. I suggest you learn options if you want to learn straddles.

Lastly, instead of criticizing someone on SA, how about you contribute to making money? Mark's helped make me money & you haven't...

Yahoo message boards might be a better place to vent your concerns over how he prices his business.

  • It's Bubble Time: A Study Of Peak PE For The S&P 500 [View article]
Thank you for providing insight to the macro view of this market and standing behind your analysis when many others are turning the cheek. Rarely do I see articles like this on SA.

We are just beginning to see names like Tesla, Linkedin, Yelp, Whole Foods, LuLu Lemon, Twitter, etc. take a hit. Even the insiders do not trust these extremely high valuations.

As a young investor, I've pulled back a bit on the side of caution.
2013 was a bull year, 2014 is the year of uncertainty, 2015…

...I appreciate your work, keep it up!

  • The Wet Seal Inc.: Significant After-Earnings Sell-Off Makes It A Compelling Value Play [View article]
This company wasn't much better in the year prior either, suprised it didn't take a hit much sooner. Analyst downgrades have greater impact than people actually doing their homework, including the insiders.

I wouldn't bank too much on a new social media strategy, this isn't a new concept for retailers.

Aside from people and instituitions buying into this sinking ship, what's the value play here?
