  • Bakken Update: Basic Energy Continues To Excel, Levered To Fraccing [View article]
To Gtoz, try reading M Filloon regularly. On the other hand, skip him, and make less informed investments, leave better profits on the table for me.

  • Arcos Dorados: A Value Investor's Feast [View article]
Since Spain kicked out the Moors and Jews, and re-distributed most of Spain's land back to the church and royalty, Spain and its' ex-colonies have been in the back wash of advanced civilization, including things like the American revolution and property law. Peron drove Argentina from being on the brink of jumping the gap, to falling deeply into the chasm. The list of Brazil's currencies is hideous. Anaconda in 1972, Chevron and Petrobras in 2013. Donald Colosia in 1994. And the antics of another Mexican Pres. and his family connex with dirty money, ugh. Throw in a bunch of dirt in our face from Hugo Chavez. No agent of change yet in LATAM. Simon Bolivar not enough. Maybe the new pope will do for LATAM what Karol Cardinal Voytija, Pope JP2, did for Eastern Europe. But the pope teamed up with Ronnie Reagan and Maggie Thatcher. I certainly don't see Obama playing a role for worldly growth of property & IP rights, any greater than Jimmy Carter did.

Price is truth. When Arco gets above it's IPO and about 20% to 40% higher, maybe I would consider it. But there is so much advanced productivity and tech and medicine to invest in.

  • The Shale Gas Boom: Energy's 'Big Lie' Of The Century? [View article]
Did the author include all those acres that are politically off the map? Offshore and onshore Calif., and Alaska? Sooner or later (probably later), these sources will be opened up. I don't have a clue how much is there. But I think you guys out there in SA land do.

  • Three Food Stocks That Are Definitely Worth A Look [View article]
Re: Swy real estate. The r.e. is mostly not for sale, it is needed for the biz opers. Unless they could liquify some r.e. and utilize less expensive land for stores and ops. cntrs, then the theoretical value of the land is not relevant on a "going concern" basis.

  • This 'Forever' Stock Could Return At Least 30% [View article]
Polaroid & Kodak thought they were in the chemically produced image biz, not the image biz. And it is silicon wafers & chips that ate them for mid afternoon snacks.

But I will be a devil's advocate re: INTC and AAPL. Is maybe a bad sign when big successes like this accumulate larger & larger cash hoards, indicating that they are missing the boat of creation, of creating successive waves of new products?

  • Bakken Update: Well In Western Williams County Produces 6-Month Payback [View article]
Wow. I can't add anything, so I ask: author Mike likes EOG, what not to like, but is hoping it dips to 100, not seen since early August 2012. Let's toss that price point away as wishful thinking. If the company has skills and smarts, a drop to 100 would mean some bad macro turn of events. What about in the low 120s, which is realistic, given that is current val?

This is so funny. What telemetry markers are they inventing?

The final tell: a PR saying that they open office in southern calif. the stock is probably issued by kardashian enterprises, co-runners are star, enquirer, us, and shape magazines. BOD includes Jon Stewart, Steve Colbert, Joan Rivers, and John Belushi's aura. Former Congressman Anthony Weiner handles investor relations.
