  • Blood In The Streets, Portugal (Part 1) [View article]
I think most of the blood has left the patient, it's now on life support and quickly fading. Euro is quickly becoming a donor patient.

  • Bargains Among Battered European Bank Stocks? Oakmark International's David Herro Makes His Case [View article]
I think the unresolved death spiral surrounding specific euro member countries will mean a continued downard trend. Decreased GDP, increased debt, cycle. People talk of the Euro sticking together no matter what, but just imagine what the market is going to do if a big player like Spain defaults or Greece does leave the Euro, or perhaps another country. CS regardless of what their capital levels are currently are firmly entrenched in Europe and the Euro even if it's not their currency. I'm sure it's a swell investment bank, but the reality is Europe is being forced to merge its finances. This isn't going to happen fast enough and the world is going to pay the price of a global slowdown.

Unfortunately, we haven't seen the bottom for this stock. We just blew the floor out from under the stock and the cyclical debt, economic, yield, unemployment, recession problems in Spain are not close to resolved. It's not just a matter if San can survive, it's a matter of what the euro looks like politically and economically that will determine Sans fate it seems like. Unfortunately, I'm long San 100 shares at 6.41 average.

  • A List Of Articles For The Beginner Investor With Long Time Horizons [View instapost]
Zamochit, did you know only 13 percent of americans work at 65? I know 13% sounds like a lot, but's it's an incredibly small percentage, the majority of the 36+ million people simply cannot work due to health problems. By 2050 the 36 million is going to swell to 86.7 million even with increasing morbidy and mortality going up slightly. Be realistic, most people are going to be forced to retire long before 65.

Overall, good articles for any newbie whom has 30-40+ years before retirement. The series does not cover newbies with less than 20 years before retirement. The former group is undoubted easier to devise strategy for rather than the latter, however the articles provide a solid straight forward framework on which to reach goals.

  • BofA Wins Big In Court, May Have Finally Contained Countrywide-Related Lawsuits [View article]
Recent data in California shows, 30.5 percent of homes have negative equity. In some counties like in the central valley, counties (Stanislaus, San Joaqin) have 50% negative equity of homeowners. How many of those loans are Countrywides and Bofa's?

Bofa won't tell you that's for sure.

  • BAC: New Signs Of Life? [View article]
Who in their right mind would go to bofa for a loan? When bofa needed a loan they went to the government with their good credit and got a loan and used that money to cover debts. Today if I went to bofa with 740 credit and asked for a loan to refinance my underwater mort, they'd laugh. Bofa is dead money for at least half a decade or a whole one.

  • Bullish On Intel [View article]
Really, why would anyone be talking about AMD, when Intel's real competition is from ARM. Intel has missed the boat on mobile and it's too late to catch up, it's only hope is to leapfrog to a major advance and then start catching up in a few years.

In meantime erosion of enterprize level systems will also occur as big hardware like HP, Dell servers begin looking at ARM cores for their servers.

I love the company, but Intel pulled a RIMM when it comes to mobile and it's going to pay the price. However, in the very long picture, if R&D pays off and they can leapfrog some technology they'll grow like it's 1999.
