  • The Best Passive Retirement Strategy In The World [View article]
"Most Americans do not have this sum of money..."

Most American's don't have enough money for, I'm willing to guess, more than half of the strategies invoked on this website.

  • Bank Of America Could Be On Sale Soon, Again [View article]
    Hmm,

You seem pretty sure regarding BAC and it's trajectory. I wonder, as you seem to be inferring that it's a likely outcome it will reach 8 dollars again, why aren't you short BAC? What are the risks of being short BAC?

Alternatively what is your year end 2014 and 2019 price targets for the stock?

For someone whom takes such a usually detailed view, your judgments on this stock seem short sighted.

  • Team Alpha Retirement Portfolio: A Nail In The Coffin And A Stake Through The Heart [View article]
Typically I hand over a small portion of every paycheck in an effort to put my money to work right away. However, there is some significant uncertainty on my part of the economy. An irrational uptick in home prices, mortgage rates rising, a fed tapering, a massive increase in the number of unemployed Americans, debt ceiling, presidential election, massive increase in Americans on disability, rising interest rates. I don't see the economic growth to support all these downsides.

That said, I'll continue to look for solid low beta dividend stocks on sale. I think the next 6 months is going to be interesting.

  • Intel Blew Its Mobile Business - Or Did It? [View article]
"There is a kernel of truth in that opinion if, and only if, your definition of "mobile business" is defined as smart phone and tablet SoC (System on a Chip) chips."

If by kernel you mean the billions in dollars of revenue since the begining of smart phone and tablet explosion. Also, much of your article seems to focus on their server and PC dominance, which frankly hasn't helped their mobile efforts thus far. Lastly, you don't address one of the primary drivers of mobile processor choice, which is price. Compare the price of an A6 processor, roughly $17 to an Intel processor.

Intel missed the boat with power consumption. Missed it with pricing. Their only hope is to R&D their way out of the hole, but it's not going to be easy or cheap because everyone in the mobile and tablet space is happy to defend their turf while Intel is just trying to establish a beachead.

  • Are Any High Quality Companies Decently Valued At The Moment? [View article]
I'm getting close to making a purchase myself in the next 30 days. Having only been investing for retirement since 2011, I got in at an rather easy time to find value. Buying BAC in 2011 was so easy even a novice could do it. Since then (learning about DGI), finding value has been a huge learning curve for me. Since then 90% of purchases are new positions and deciding which to purchase. Finding the quality has been easy, finding the value, not so much.

"It is my opinion that shares of BAC will see new 52 week lows based on the issues presented here"

If BAC hits 52 week lows of 12.05, I'll be backing the truck up. I'm hoping that a Fed settlement is announced shortly and further drives the stock lower. The bloodier the better. A 33% decline from the 52 week high would be amazing.

Personally I hope you are right and the stock tanks. Though, any company that has more customers, a lot more deposits and a lot less cost structure and legal obligations that decline as the years pass. I'm not sure I'd bet against a company like that. Certainly if I thought a stock was going to decline another 20%, I'd be short it.

  • Retirees: Should You Consider A Dividend Growth Income Index? [View article]
This week my employer gave me the option of having a trading account attached to my 401k that I can use pretax dollars in. I'm considering getting rid of all my mutual funds and starting a dividend portfolio in my 401k. The article is very timely.

  • Retirement Strategy: 'Team Alpha' Crushed The S&P (Part 17) [View article]
I would argue that a 100,000 dollar portfolio is a lot easier to grow than say a 2,000 dollar portfolio. I'd love to see Seeking Alpha take on newbie investors and turn something around. A lot of these articles all seem focused on people whom already have 30k, 40k, 100k, or more standing by ready for investment.

The reality is there are more people entering the market every day and not everyone has a portfolio like previously mentioned.
