  • A Run Of The Mill Decline In Apple [View article]
Capital Gains. If sold now they will pay just 15% this year on gains, and wow has there been gains over the past five years if they have held them that long. After January 1st, those gains will be taxed at 40% for their tax bracket. Who wouldn't sell now to lock down those gains. Buy again later.

  • Apple: Near-Term Gains, Long-Term Caution [View article]
Apple earnings could be peaking. But I haven't sold one share of aapl since I started buying in 2005. So I will be selling to lock in capital gains. There is no way I am the only one. Tax selling is a big factor.

  • Upsetting The Apple-Cart: Google Just Torpedoed The iPhone's Profit Margins [View article]
Late last night I went online to order an ipad mini. I says it ships in two weeks. Overnight shipping will get it to me on December 11th? So they are backed up closer to three weeks. I clicked on for live chat. Nobody. I clicked to pick up in store. No stores available in my area (I live outside NYC)

So I ordered a Google product instead. I kid, I kid

I think this quarter will be extraordinary. Apple products are priced high enough to make a profit. So if they can't keep up with demand and are making a large profit . . . . .

  • Apple's Institutional Slingshot: Rational Explanation Of Irrational Stock Action [View article]
Aren't we all selling our aapl stock before the new year to lock in capital gains? I will be buying back as well. My selling has nothing to do with the stock, just Uncle Sam.

  • Without Steve Jobs, Apple Is Without A Map [View article]
I was diagnosed with eye cancer. My father had kidney cancer, my grandfather had pancreatic cancer. The amount of people that judged us was appalling. No one should make comments of any kind about a person's choice of treatment. You need to read Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez's article about Steve Jobs.

THANK YOU! I totally forgot. I had the first Imac. The teal one, which was the only color at first. It crashed so much I became fearful of computers and stopped using it. You would be going along and crash all your work was gone.

(he who made the fatal mistake of trying to heal cancer with pomegranate juice)

What a callous and cruel remark. I am sure Mr. Jobs kept you abreast of all of his medical treatments, main stream and alternative.

  • Subtle Innovation: Apple's Incremental Improvement Strategy [View article]
Great article. I can remember the haters of apple back in the 90's. Even before the Imac, the MacIntosh computer was HATED by people. I like my car, I love my apple products, why would I bother to take the time to say I hate Samsung?

Also I still feel that it is the ease of use, and the streamlining of apple products (I have SYNC in my car) is where they really pull ahead. I am no techie, but in another year I think my whole house will be apple. Just saw the app for thermostat!

  • Things Left Unsaid At The Apple Announcement: More Significant Than What Was Revealed [View article]
    Great article, thank you!

And the little things? I have a herd of nieces and nephews and I thought the ipod refresh was exciting. Apple is getting very young people hooked on the beauty and ease of use.

China Mobile is huge. And we still have no real word on the new Apple TV or Mini Ipad. Iphone 5 is just the start of this very big year.

The Betamax forever changed the way we watched TV. So how many changes in TV viewing since then? No guarantee that Barnes and Noble will always benefit.

Some one will build a better mousetrap. But sadly books are on the way out. Still love to read out of the real thing though.

Why the hate? Ird just pointed out what the court ruled. So you still want to buy pirated technology. That is your choice, but please drop the "drop dead".

  • Apple Is Still An Astute Equity Investment [View article]
I have held onto some of my shares since 2005, but most were bought 2007. I think a lot of people bought more than five years ago and are still hanging on. Thanks for all the info. Lots to think about.
