  • Android Money Is Financing Microsoft's Lumia Phones And Tablets [View article]
Steve guided MS into enterprise, today MS makes billions from its deeply entrenched enterprise products and services. While consumers find it boring, it is a very strong very deep long term rev source. It seems it is not cool because it is not "mobile".

rubbish, the commercial channel is tiny , it is like comparing a fire hose to a kitchen tap.

It is not an apology that is needed , what is needed is for people like you to actually do some research and not just spout whatever random misquoted bit of fluff you happen to see on the internet.

Chromebook has not sold 20% or 10% or 5% of any meaningful metric.
Although I say hats off to NPD for getting so much coverage with yet another click bait headline...

  • Windows Falls To Under 90%, OSX Over 8% - Implications? [View article]

    This story is nonsense.

The writer pretends the 8.xx% is market share when really it is web use.

Many millions of Windows machines are 100% restricted from the internet. They exist on intranets to avoid any contact with the web.
And vastly more are worked based vs the high percentage of macs purchased by students and other consumers.

If you just look at the actual sales data the writer looks silly and his whole story falls apart.....

and btw just a year or two ago we had to listen to all the sheep repeat and silly 10% and 20% and 80% of market numbers, when they all turned up as wrong, where were the retractions...

    @dnpvd51,

Nonsense, chrombooks are not even 1% of the market. You know this and yet publish nonsense due to your hate of MSFT.

    TO ALL...
dnpvd51, spends his days ranting against MSFT, and misleading people to further spread his distaste for a company...

  • A Red Flag At Microsoft? [View article]
The Author, asks why issue debt?

Come on, even the dogs in the street know the answer to that...

Firstly MS does not have its cash pile in the USA and needs to have extra funds there without the tax cost of bringing them home.
Secondly MSFT has a AAA rating and the interest is so low it is free money.

  • China's New Smartphone OS May Be A Dark Horse In The Mobile Horse Race [View article]
China will not get the west to buy an OS, but then I doubt they are evening shooting for that.
Just getting away from the US software tax would be enough.

  • Nokia Can Put Microsoft On The Mobile Map [View article]

While I am a big NOK fan, MS is in trouble with the Lumia.

Google has responded to the 520 with a killer blow in the form of its Moto g x phones .

Google has done exactly what Microsoft bragged about and has done it better. By taking so damn long to get product out the door MSFT has allowed Google to get back in the low price but high quality and value smart phone market.

MS HAS TAKEN TOO LONG .

MS NOK, should have released a 525 everywhere and for less.
MS NOK, should have released a $50
MS NOK, should have released a $99
MS NOK, should have released a $149
MS NOK, should have released a $229
MS NOK, should have released a $299
MS NOK, should have released a $450

ALL for those prices OFF CONTRACT.

Furthermore MS should be running a carrier service in as many major markets as they can.

For years I have been shouting to MS to get off the pot and make a full blown effort in the Mobile sector, but year after year it is too small, too little , too late.

2014 looks set to repeat all the mistakes of the last 13 years in Mobile.

"""" Ballmer's biggest coup to date is his impressive patent taxing of Android device makers"""

That one line shows the OP knows NOTHING about Steve B, and little about MSFT.

Steve's big coup has nothing to do with mobile, and is worth many times the few billion MS gets from Android. And more importantly Steve should get no credit for managing to get scraps from a table that he should have been sitting at.

  • Intel: The Asus Transformer Duet Is A Great Implementation Of Dual OS [View article]
This is a device with no market, or at least one so small as to be a minor rounding error.

And they are not even new, this was done in 2011 and 12 nobody cared then and nobody will care now..

Just buy a nice Wintel device and pick up an android tablet much better , much easier and makes a lot more sense.

  • Where Have All The Androids Gone? [View article]

    Such nonsense.

Having gone from a massive lead to a very distant 2nd place Apple boosters struggle to come up with metrics that make it all seem OK.

Good luck with this delusion your creating.

    NAILS IT.

the 2- 3 billion coming from android to Microsoft is a direct result of losses taken in R&D and early attempts at smart phones and touch.

Now more than other other time in the last 20 years is the worst time for MSFT to get rid of product groups.

finally we see MSFT converging its groups and tech into 'One Microsoft" , finally we see MS correcting the errors, and todays MS decision to renounce the curve and the stack ranking proves they really mean it.

losing Bing and or Xbox now would be like selling the door to your house. Sure you get a quick buck but the price is too damn high.
