  • A poorly kept secret, the congressional supercommittee makes it official, announcing it cannot reach a deficit-cutting deal. "After months of hard work and intense deliberations, it will not be possible to make any bipartisan agreement." The good news: no more supercommittee?  [View news story]
The problem is bigger than two extremely polarized parties that are inept beyond the point of any functional compromise. The other problem I'm referring to are lobbyists and third part interests. It's a money game and we're caught in the middle; any of you remember Jack Abramoff? Google and watch "Casino Jack and the United Stated of Money".

  • Amazon's Stock Should Trade Well Below $100 [View article]
Definitely a hit for Amazon investors (I'm one of them), but Amazon is more than just a blue chip company, it offers services that I frankly love, and millions more love too. I'm an avid user of the prime membership and enjoy the streaming content (I've canceled my Netflix account) and "free" shipping. I wouldn't be out of line with saying Amazon is the most user friendly retailer site on the net. I'm aware that my investment with Amazon is emotionally based(not wise, I'm sure), but I love them as a company.

Sure, it has a PE of 100.07 and under normal conditions, I would never invest in a company with such a high PE, but amazon is just not any other company. I'm as much committed for life as an amazon customer as I am with being a share holder. I took a hit today, but I've balanced my quaint portfolio with other investments and still well in the green. (Had I known better, I would have sold yesterday and re-bought at a bargain price later this week or next, depending on performance.)

Technicals aside, I think the fundamentals, though a expansive gamble, are solid, with a steady growth of costumers and net sales. Furthermore Benchmark Company and Stifel Nicolaus reiterated a Buy and I highly doubt amazon will sink below 150.
