  • Under Armour: Fads Tend To End Badly [View article]
I agree its not a fad.... but to use lofty to describe the stock price is also incorrect - Ridiculous is a more accurate descriptor for UA stock price. 100x forward earnings is just ridiculous.

  • Nike: Great Company, Expensive Stock [View article]
if you believe that NIKE is an expensive stock (which you state) at 30x earnings, what would your detailed analysis show about UA currently at 103x earnings?

  • Why I'm Buying Kinder Morgan: 6% Dividend And 10% Annual Dividend Growth [View article]
Has anyone read the research report (recent) stating how much energy savings would be realized by the New England states if a pipeline transporting Nat Gas would be constructed? That's one of KMI's future "endeavors" per R Kinder. It wouldn't come without huge obstacles, of course.

Smartest comment I have read in weeks on UA - by ALIVEH - 0ver 100xs earnings - foolish at this height.

  • Under Armour's Strengths Can't Overcome This One Problem [View article]
Investors are often bold when the momentum is chugging along, almost daily. However, 106 times earrings, really? wrong train at this price.

I would like to ask "Why beat up on an author just because he writes a conservative article?"

  • Why Starbucks Is A Sell In Favor Of Dunkin' Brands Group As A Buy [View article]
I was told once (in favor of Dunkin) - "look at their expansion opportunities". well, with that view Sbux would be the winner. First, with a global presence, the finest bakery, first to mobile order and pay, and the tea acquisition provides them things Dunkin could only dream of. Yes they trade within $.50 of each other (after the SBUX split!).

  • Home Depot And Lowe's - Home Improvement Built On Share Repurchases [View article]
COULDN'T this argument or case be made for a lot of companies (buybacks boosting earnings)? Since borrowings have been so cheap, buybacks are one tool for "earnings mgmt" used by lot of companies. Given this, how much is the overall market overpriced?
in terms of P/E I am constantly amazed how little they can mean. Look at UA. 80xs earnings for a technology apparel manufacturer? Even NIKE is stretched at 29Xs. then look at AMBA - 78x earnings. I realize a momentum play but again what significance is the PE?

  • Heard during Under Armour's earnings call [View news story]
trading at 80+ times earnings (yes I know growth stocks trade outside of PE) hitting the expectations is not enough. They must exceed on all measurements.

  • AT&T: A Rare, Post-Recession Buying Opportunity [View article]
maybenot and jmacjohn - I agree with the position of an increasing income need in a retirement portfolio. But at the same time since 9/2009 T stock price has gone from 28 to 32 and paltry 14.2% in 5 years - simple math 2.85% a year - where the DOW during the same time went from 9783 (9/17/09) to 18112 (today) an 85% increase.

So, can an investor afford to let 5 years pass in an investment where it lags the Simple avg. DOW by 70%?

  • AT&T: A Rare, Post-Recession Buying Opportunity [View article]
I am stunned by all of the T investors where all that is quoted or supporting their holdings is the dividend. Yes I know - we lack a safe and competitive place to park the money but AT&T - really? In Sept 09 we bought a block of T and VZ. VZ currently yields 4.45% and T above 5.3%. PP in 09 were $28 T - $31.25 VZ. Today VZ is $49.50 and T is $32. Need I say more?

  • AT&T: Time To Be Greedy? [View article]
would anyone buy T for reasons other than the div? Little if any growth, a bloated and overpaid employee base and debt that is much more than a concern for me - post DTV acquisition.
