  • Lost License Causes Big Run

I confess it. I am a big lover of small pennies because there is so much more action than in other stocks.

    I picked

    Alberta Oilsands AOSDF.PK AOS.V

a few days ago and it was a lucky punch! I picked it because the company has great assets but the devaluation of the exploration companies beat them down to the "cash-in-the-bank-value" of 7 Million Dollars.

Then I noticed, that insiders started to buy and so I did. Look here for the Insider Dealings: bullve.st/27y

Last week I heard a rumor about that the government will be going to cancel some licenses around the town Fort MacMurray to give the community room to grow. And Yes, it happened.

What is normally a bad thing for companies like Alberta Oilsands turned out as a good thing because the company is extremely undervalued.

It seems the government of Alberta has to compensate all expenses of the Clearwater project - roughly 53 Millions., This will lift the cash position to 60 Millions - 28 Cents/share.

Alberta Oilsands was heavy trading at the 14 Cent range on Friday (+30 Millions of shares).

My expectations are clear. The stock will continue trading very heavy but will close up to the foreseeable cash position of 28 Cents per share step by step.

From my point of view a cash dividend is possible and would be wise.

I see no possible pullback scenario here.

    Disclosure: I am long OTCPK:AOSDF.

  • Technical Revolution - BlackBerry Did It - What´S The Next Big Thing Coming From Canada?

I confess, I am a huge BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) fan since years. I owned a lot of devices and at the times all people switched to the apple bars, I preferred to stay, ignoring the laughs of the crowd. Its my thing!

Today I was curious about the beginning of BlackBerry in the times when it was RIM.

I consulted my Stockwatch charting tool and I found out that th start was not a big IPO like many other Prime-Tech-Stocks.

    Here is the Chart:

It happens in the manner a lot of promising technology companies are starting - in the Small Cap sector!

We know that just a hand full of this tiny tech companies will survive and will head forward like RIM did it. Its a mix of luck and cleverness AND a good product.

Times are getting tougher and we have seen it many times before that the bigger companies try to steal the IP from the tiny ones. Sometimes this is successful and the giants kicking out the dwarfs out of business because they have not the ability to fight for their right to party!

From my point of view ZECOTEK PHOTONICS (OTCPK:ZMSPF) is one of a hand full of the Small caps (we all searching for) which is poised to be a success for all - Investors and Management!

To make a long story short. Zecotek sued 2 real giants with billions of market cap. French based Saint Gobain and Dutch based Philips in Ohio, the home of Saint Gobain USA, a crystal grower.

This kind of Crystals are used in many hi-tech devices but first after all in PET Scanners. A Pet Scanner is selling at the Moment for 1.5 to 2 Million dollar and one third of the manufacturing costs are just these crystals.

Zecotek sued Saint Gobain and Philips for willful patent infringement on this crystals. The compensation sum Zecotek is seeking for is not published at this time but speculations on the internet are saying that this lawsuit can be worth 200-400 million dollars.

Based on 77 Million outstanding shares this would mean a cash position of around 3 Dollar AND Saint Gobain has to search for a new crystal, develop a new crystal or pay license fees to Zecotek or step down from this business, because all patent free crystals are not able to compete with the Zecotek crystal.

But this would be a jump or die story. But Zecotek provides more technical innovations. The scientists developed a photon detector device. Its on silicon basis (like a transistor) and provide a extreme radiation hardness.

Conventional Photon detectors are not resistible to magnetic radiation what makes a the development of a combined PET/MRT scanner very difficult and expensive. Such a device would be the dream of every doctor because it provides the depth of a PET scanner and the exactness of a MRT scanner in one picture. Siemens try to develop this machine since years. TRY!

And finally they have a 3D display without glasses - no 3D effect, a real volumetric 3D picture. I saw this display in action and it was amazing and unbelievable.

I would not bet my car and my home on this company because its still a risky small cap but it seems 2013 could be the year of all Zecotek share holders!

Disclosure: I am long BBRY, OTCPK:ZMSPF.

Additional disclosure: Zecotek is trading on the Pinks Sheets but is not a Pink Sheet company. The main listing is on the TSX Venture exchange with strong regulatories. The pink sheets listing makes it just more easy for US investors to buy Zecotek. Everybody can check their quaterly filings on sedar.com.

  • Zecotek Photonics Announces Markman Hearing Date

I recently wrote about Zecotek Photonics TSXV: ZMS OTC: ZMSPF.PK You can find this article HERE

Today the company announced the most critical date - the well known (to US investors) Markman Hearing. Read the News HERE

This is not a Mickey-Mouse case as many others.

Zecotek Photonics is seeking compensation for WILLFUL patent infringement. Willful means that the compensation could me much higher then the crowd is expecting - my guess is up to half a billion.

    HALF A BILLION?

No Joke! Saint Gobain lost a case against Siemens in the past and they paid around 50 million for a couple of PET machines. If Zecotek will win this law suit, this would mean that all Philips PET machines since 2006 would damage the IP of Zecotek Photonics.

Alpha Edge calculated (in the Sain Gobain vs. Siemens) case a sum of 737,000/machine.

They also guessed that Philips sold about 300 machines since 2006. The calculation says: 221,000,000 - willful means 2-times the sum?

Read more HERE (use google translator)

However - Zecotek has a market cap of just 25 mil. and a should boost the share price extremely. Speculation should start today!

    Disclosure: I am long OTCPK:ZMSPF.
