RIM Cranking Out Latest Additions to BlackBerry Family [View article]
I bought the iPhones 3GS when it came out last month. Kept it for about 20 days, and in the end I returned because I found reading email and finding contacts a tiring task on the eyes and finger. I'm back to CURVE 8300.
The only thing I miss on the iPhone were the APPS.
The Blackbery App store offerings are weak.
I'll be getting my BOLD soon, but I think RIM should have annouced by now an updated BOLD with a better camera, some of the better location based service apps, and faster speed.

I'm unhappy wiht the browsing capabilities of my Blackberry Curve and have put off getting an iPhone for lack of a tactile keyboard, however the new Pre looks like the perfect solution. I hope it's fast, not buggy, quality build, and easy to sync with outlook.

I think the iPhone is cool, but hey, I'm not a fool to piss away money, my curve does everything I need, and I'm actually thinking of ditching it and going back to a simple phone, because I don't want to be constantly reminded of something to do.
iPhone will need to come down in price, and ATT will have to lower it's data subscription costs for me to be interested in buying the iPhone.

Excellent article! Best way to judge the value of anything is relative to the alternatives. It's how we do appraisals in the real estate industry. You've made a good point about Apple being the best priced real estate in Fremont, but do I want to buy real estate in Fremont where the schools are great but prices haven't come down much or am I better off buying it in areas like Hayward where prices have dropped 50% or more.
If the economy continues to tank, toy purchases will decline, and AAPL will suffer from that, since it sells expensive toys. In your next article I'd like to see you write about how AAPl fared in previous downturns.

Apple will win the consumer market, because it's easy to use and remember it's an iPod with a phone. So all those iPod lovers who lover carrying around their music will love to have a single device to move to once they can afford it.
However, the iPhone is not a business phone, and because of secuirty and management issues. RIMM is not going away, they may not grow as fast as APPl, but they will continue to grow, and until AAPL comes out with a keyboard for the iPhone they'll have a distinct advantage over the iPhone.
When I'm searching for real estate online, it's way more efficient to use a keyboard.
Google Phone: "Dream Phone" Might Be a Little Strong [View article]
when are the next 10 android phones coming out. it's just a matter of time before some comes out with a version that's lighter, simpler, faster, with a longer battery life, less radiation, more memory, etcs. Yes, Apple gets it first with software, but Google isn't dumb like Motorola, Samsung, and Nokia when it comes to UI. Margins will come down on smartphones, and they'll be commodities in two years.
Five Reasons RIMM Will Continue to Fall [View article]
Apple has been making iMacs for how long, and they seem to be on the uptick now because the commodity product is not as easy, "not as secure", even though Apple charges a premium.
Blackberry needs to continue to innovate and has a number of new products coming out, hopefully they've improved their SW on the multimedia side, and browsing speed as well.
I agree, RIMM will continuing to own corporate accounts. Until Jobs's gets over himself, and remembers that he still sells MACs with a keyboard and mouse because it's a faster, more precise and easier way to input data, and offers similar conveniences along with better security on iPhones, he'll continue to play the consumer space predominatly.

RIM is still the preferred device for users who respond to email. Touch is great for enlarging and shrinking a web page, but a keyboard is best for typing. I refuse to pay a premium for a phone's data service ala Apple. Data is data.
