The iPhone's Next Carrier Is Likely T-Mobile, Not Verizon

the iPhone isn't perfect the perfect hardware device nor is it the perfect software device but unfortunately, Motorola even with Android, Samsung, Nokia etal can't seem to figure out how to make a better device.

Samsung makes fantastic hardware, but they need to couple it with better software. they also need to move to a standard USB charger.

Nokia just can't seem to figure out how to make a better Blackberry or iPhone.

Blackberry needs to figure out how to make browsing more relevant on their phone.

iPhone needs to make reading and responding to email more like a Blackberry.

Palm needs to produce a larger device, that's more user friendly for the older generation that wants mail, some games, stock look-up, weather, maps.

Motorola Droid: A Promising iPhone Challenger

Having a standard screen size and UI, makes it easier to develop a great looking app. Don't expect any variation there from Apple. If you research ATT stores you'll discover sale of iPhone is increasing, not decelerating. So expect Apple to have a blow-out next quarter.

Also I'm expecting Apple to collaborate with one of the car makers to create a UI experience to access GPS, music, climate controls, internet in the car and all the new safety technology being incorporated into cars. Who better to come up with the UI to unify it all.

Having said that I don't own any Apple and at this price am not interested in buying. Too much of their current success is riding on the iPhone, and if something negative happens (like phones catching on fire), kaboom goes your investment.

Verizon's Droid Is the Real Deal

It's all about the apps. Any phone can place a call, handle blue tooth and access voicemail, but what are the killer apps to create the demand. Hardware alone won't do it.

I think the iPhone is cool, but hey, I'm not a fool to piss away money, my curve does everything I need, and I'm actually thinking of ditching it and going back to a simple phone, because I don't want to be constantly reminded of something to do.

iPhone will need to come down in price,and ATT will have to lower it's data subscription costs for me to be interested in buying the iPhone.

Blackberry needs to continue to innovate and has a number of new products coming out, hopefully they've improved their SW on the multimedia side, and browsing speed as well.
