  • Why This Market Is Not Going Down Any More [View article]
Can you elaborate your stance on "cheap credit" and whether or not the current monetary policies are sustainable on the long run? Thanks.

  • Market Update: Can An Extended S&P 500 See Further Gains? [View article]
If everyone believes in 1650, why not just go all in? Still another 52 points before the top. I think it's easier to make a statement on when the market will top than put your money to work.

Expect a pullback when no one expects it.

  • March Retail Sales: -0.4% vs. +0.1% expected, +1% prior (revised). Ex-auto -0.4% vs +0.1% expected. [View news story]
Apparently it means nothing for the stock market. Afternoon buying happened to put a stop to all the bleeding from the morning sell off.

Why fight the tide when you can ride it? We all know its short sellers that got squeezed 3 times, who are now reluctantly buying into every dip.

  • Market recap: A morning pullback again brought buyers into stocks, which still closed slightly lower on the heels of disappointing consumer and retail data, but each of the three major indexes closed nearly 2% for the week. Energy and mining stocks tumbled as crude oil fell 2.4%, and gold's protracted decline pushes it into bear territory; other commodities also fell sharply[View news story]
Short sellers that got squeezed are the ones buying the dips. They've heavily under performed this market expecting a 'dramatic pull-back'. Everyone should go long at this point, why fight the tide when you can ride it?

  • 6 Reasons Spain Will Keep Spreading The Pain [View article]
Headlines always exaggerate the actual problem of any issue. Young people do not really follow financial and economic news; thus, which is why they continue on with their normal lives. Same with the whole Israel and Iran dilemma. Israelis are nonchalant about the whole Iran issue. The neighbors usually panic more!

  • The Return Of Volatility [View article]
I disagree with you. The VIX did not break out because of Greece. It broke out because of the upcoming US data, which will most likely project disappointing data. Retail numbers will kick it off tomorrow, so we will see. There is no reason for the market to rally at this stage, it was reasonable back in November, because a lot of companies were under-valued. But all good news have already priced in, including QE3.

  • Weekly Market Outlook: Closer To A Healthy Correction [View article]
I agree. The huge volume in the VIX was not because of Greece, but rather the street preparing for some disappointing news about the US economy. Only time will tell.

  • At least one analyst, Virtual Research's Jeff Sprague, isn't buying all the optimism at Whirlpool (WHR +17.8%), given that in 2012 the company must pay $275M in a Brazilian legal settlement, $110M for anti-trust resolutions, $250M in pension contributions and $279M in restructuring cash outlays. Targets look "extremely optimistic... We reiterate our Sell Rating."  [View news story]
I think buyers will come back below $60, but I would not add here for sure.

  • Be Cautious With These 4 Companies In A Market Downturn [View article]
I would not make an entry on LULU at these price levels, but also would not short it either unless it hits between the $68-$73 range. I think the company is overvalued, but institutions are bidding this one up too attract day traders.

  • Mr. Market Is Not Undervaluing Apple [View article]
I can't wait until the day the company slows down. This company will be one of the biggest shorts in history. That's for sure.

This company is a cash machine, but will diminish soon if the company bet on the wrong technology. Smart phones will be outdated in the next 3-5 years. It happens in every market cycle.

That's what short sellers do. Make a big deal out of a 'blip' I know how these analyst think, because I've lived with people that think that way. But at the end of the day, optimism beats negativity.

Sounds like NYT wants a piece of BAC at cheaper levels. Too many institutions are accumulating at these levels. Individual investors that are shorting the stock based on momentum have no clue.
