  • Apple Earnings Preview: We've Heard This Story Before [View article]
Analysts are underestimating china and emerging markets which could beat estimates on all counts. Eps increase is almost a certainty due to the huge buybacks. Tim Cook has started paying attention to the stock price contrary to the current thinking out there.
Its always so amazing to see the sheer amount of words written about apple in one way or the other on the web. Most of it is sheer nonsense or not worth reading.

  • Apple's Q2 Results Are Likely To Disappoint [View article]
Are you serious? Every product gets saturated after some time and that is the reason why they become steady sales after some time while newer products increase the revenue and profits. The thing that you forget is, in the case of apple, even their steady stream income is equivalent to the market cap of many companies.

  • Apple's Q2 Results Are Likely To Disappoint [View article]
Lets look at your summary points, my comments after the 2 dashes.

Slower growth in premium smartphone segment. -- more than 85% of all the profits in high end sales went to apple.

Weak demand in key China market. -- much much better than initially expected by short sellers. The game played by the short sellers is keep raising the sales number expectations so that they can quote it in their propaganda.

Unfavorable mix including discounted iPhone 4s units in India, Brazil and Indonesia.
Inventory overhang of iPhone 5c. -- blatantly wrong, huge sales because of the mix in all the countries mentioned because of different price points appealing to different segments of the population.

Shaping up to be a weak quarter overall -- this is your hope and dream, nothing wrong with it since you are holding a short position. I personally think you are on the wrong side of things, not too late to get on the right side of things, get long.

  • Apple - Is It Losing The Battle Of The Ecosystems? [View article]
The article is a rehash of all things said and heard before so many many times (yawn!) only to reveal the authors true bias at the very end.

  • Apple Is Slowly Rotting: Rosy Financials Mask Competitive Disadvantage And Souring Future [View article]
I guess you are missing the big picture. I keep hearing the word cash hoarding as something bad, it isn't! Apple will continue its innovations but with all the cash they could be buying up companies like ebay or twitter or netflix or other comapnies, all mentioned all along in various news media. This could happen anytime. With this kind of purchases they suddenly will be in a much bigger arena of business while still standing tall with their own products. So it is sad to see folks just making negative comments to get free publicity or ratings has become as common as the weeds growing in my backyard.

  • Has Samsung Dethroned Apple? [View article]
Innovations by their very nature are not an easy thing, what apple has done over the last decade is simply phenomenal, give it another 10 years and see what happens. Samsung has been good at copying innovations, just like the japanese companies of the past. The pioneering companies have to learn fast how to deal with slowing down the copycats, otherwise history will be repeating itself.
Apple's biggest mistake was its trust in google and to a lesser extent samsung. The next 1-2 years will tell how much apple has learnt.

  • Apple's Cash Hoard Is An Asset, Not A Liability [View article]
    Excellent article.
Cooperman and ilk use media outlets for helping their personal/hedge fund positions.
I saw that interview on cnbc and felt should not trust him for stock pickings. Though one thing I can say for him is, he was atleast honest in saying that he would not disclose 2 of his positions till they double up in price. But what does that say for the stocks he mentioned, probably they are closer to full value and need retail investors to push them higher.
He also did not disclose what percentage of his profits last year were from apple, I bet a significant percentage.
At his age and riches, he still wants to manipulate the market, feel sorry for such folks.

  • Apple: Don't Follow The Herd [View article]
Sal, Don't assume folks are commenting without reading the article fully. The author puts a cap on the stock price based on reasons outlined in his article, which I felt were not logical, hence the comments.

  • Apple: Don't Follow The Herd [View article]
What's the point of this article? If this author' s logic is applied to every company in the world, they should all ultimately go to lowered stagnant valuations. Quick product cycles, variety of products and prices is one of the things that will be sustaining a company in the long run. Apple sees that and will be using it as one of it's strategies against its competition. It still is going to be innovative (rumored products like itv, iwatch etc) but also use other strategies to stay on top. Have you seen any of the competitors come up with a paradigm changing innovative products. Till then apple is in the right space doing all the right things. Stock price fluctuations will be subject to fear and greed as it has always been but in the long run apple is a winner.

  • Has Microsoft Just Leapfrogged Apple? [View article]
This article is full of empty words, what is the author trying to acheive besides pumping msft fow whatever reason. There is no price for this product, no consumer reviews, how easy is to carry, like all ms products i shudder to think once the windows 8 inevitably also becomes a target of viruses. This article refuses to talk about any negatives, give me a break!
