Careful Matt, Arnie might be unloading thousands of shares tomorrow if he no longer believes you actually know more than you know!

Well I for one am hoping you have severely messed up your calculations and that it gets all the way to $88! (.00).

"Release an irrelevant piece of information just ahead of disappointing financial results and you will usually find it is seized upon as a) 'news' and (even more extraordinarily), b) 'important'".

It's not often Google fires a complete blank.

Care to enlighten me (others?) what HNTW1 means please?

John says: "Tesla have addressed the "chicken and egg" problem of long range pure EVs and where to charge them by simultaneously providing cars that have a range similar to ICE cars and also giving them the means to "fill up" rapidly on a long trip".

"Rapidly"'? - well, we certainly have a good degree of variance on what we consider that word means!

I'd respectfully suggest a more accurate sentence might be:

"giving them the means to "fill up" in a just-acceptable timeframe on a long trip".

With the paint additive, the surface becomes so completely non-adhesive and frictionless the car is not even crash-able!

Steer it into a fence, telegraph pole, another vehicle, or a human, and it just slides right off and one carries on one's merry way.

Wouldn't a new 5.5" 'Apple model' be more of a 'tablet' than a 'smartphone'?

Serving to further reinforce the 'theory'....

Certainly my re, re and re-reading of the Corning call gives me the impression they were dancing around a lot of the questioning. Some it, frankly, bordered on jibberish!

OK - thanks. But re-reading the Corning earnings announcement, I think you'd be hard pressed to believe that GG will feature on the IP6.

To wit: "lower-than-expected sales for planned new models."

I mean, this is pretty clear isn't it?!

Have a core long position them, but seem to be forever kicking myself for not buying them on any and every dip they experience!

Just re-reading my notes from the prior quarter's call and I suspected they were being extremely cautious with their guidance...

    ... pity I didn't re-read those notes a week or two ago!

Quality, quality, quality company. Would be surprised if I didn't still own the stock in 10 years' time....

I couldn't have summed up my 'best guesses' in a three line comment if I tried!

And I am torn between a) 'wanting' the earnings miss - in order to provide a $12 entry point to REALLY load the boat on GTAT, and b) preferring a better result and avoiding all of this palaver!

But yes, in the case of GTAT, the market is EXTRAORDINARILY focussed on things '2014' when it should be looking, well, a little further out then that.

Hmmm, maybe I do prefer the 'revenue miss' from GTAT after all :-)

Will the sapphire melt as the rest of the car burns?

    (teasing......

    .... but short Tesla).

    :-)

    "lower retail demand for smartphones".

Um, I don't think I heard Apple saying that in their earnings last week?
