When Appl start giving dividends, thats a signal to sell. Usually stocks that give dividend are content on what they have as they do not forsee any huge expansions. With Appl holding on cash like that, it makes you think what expansions they have in mind.

Buying put leaps on RIM is complicating the matter, you should buy Apple stock if you think Apple is taking over RIM's market share. Kind of logical. But you are really contradicting yourself when you sold Apple.
2 Mistakes Every Investor Must Avoid (And How I Made Them With RIM) [View article]
RIMMs stock will go up when: tablet security hits major headlines, RIM upgrades the playbook software in a Major way that iPad/Android doesn't have or will not be easily had, RIM slowly conceeding defeat by shifting business to software more by creating software for iPhone and Android (this move will be cause the stock to first crash, but then is the turnaround for the CO).
Bottom line, don't buy till you see one of these big changes.
Why Apple Should Borrow Cash and Pay Out a Whopping Dividend [View article]
Adding "value" this way is pretty useless. Where Apple's REAL VALUE comes in is their product and their long term strategy on how to crush competition. Moving around numbers to inflate another number only good for people looking to make a quick buck. I believe they have wide enough base of investors, no need to throw money away at investors. I really don't see the point of doing that. Let say if they give me dividend, it does absolutely nothing their their product lineup, and their product strength.

Is summer time, and apple is in the slow news cycle. iPhone 5 is being introduced later than people's expectations, and people are not seeing the signifigance of iCloud and how Lion will bridge PC's and Tablets and steal the show in years to come.

You are the few people in this world that has the theoretical 20k songs in their libaries, let alone 10k. Apple caters to major market demand, not market niche.
Hey Rocco, sometimes you can't just look at market share, if the market share of RIMM is declining, but the overall subscriber still increases, this means the market is getting bigger, and RIMM will still make more money with a lower market share. Have you ever thought of that?
I don't think buying leaps in RIM is a good move because they can do many things that can make their share price go up in a year and a half. By going that long, you cannot possible guess what new products, company direction they can take during that time span. Being a mobile tech company, many things can change very fast. To me Leaps straight up is equivalent to a way to buy stocks on a leverage.

Come on, Android isn't making any money comparing to Apple right now even greater raw numbers of android handsets. Buy the winner (appl) especially when the price of the stock isn't really a bubble yet. Apple is the best tech company on the planet, they are not fluke(once you're lucky in ipod music revolution, twice you are good in iPhone smart phone revolution, now is Thrice with the iPad tablet revolution. Apple is a seriously good company.
Baidu vs. Yahoo: Sell the Bubble, Buy the Bargain [View article]
Just looking at market setiment, this author is taking a pretty big risk interms of opportunity cost of Yahoo staying flat while a better stock goes up. Bidu has roots in China, they got Chinese Gov't support. Yahoo is considered very American by chinese standards, the chinese will try to protect BIDU. One more thing, Alibaba is no EBAY, this puts your understanding of Yahoo and the overall stock market in serious question. I would still buy Google over Yahoo, as Yahoo does not have any good products right now that can over take any market shares. I see that they are there to be lost.

the 2 billion dollars of debt is questionable, but can still be written off on tax. This can be priced into the takeover price by lowering it.
There is a fairly good chance for this, that Patchter guy is no idiot.
