Investing in China's Booming Automobile Sector: Japanese Cars a No Go [View article]
Good article on the sentiment against Japo cars - understand about the China Japan war syndrome. But reality might be that the Chinese would never forgive Japan even if they kneel down and apologize for the sins of their ancestors - its the shame of having lost the war that makes the whole thing so touchy feely. Similar is the case with India - I expect the Chinese to start embracing Japanese auto's only when the Indians embrace Chinece telco equipment(which probably will never happen either). India is sore since China attacked India when peace negotiations were going on (1960's) and they were caught totally unprepared. In India, the Chinese are talked of as 'evil' and blatent 'cheaters' ... so its a problem with the whole continent. Everyone is sore at someone else for having done something in the past... ah when will people learn how to move on in life.

"I also think some "in their own world" countries might do well too like Turkey, Russia, China, India, and Iceland."
Great article.. Its interesting that you've mentioned China & India as 'in their world' ..don't these countries depend(especially china) on US export, IT trade etc and US VC/PE investments?
rsys has cool technology.. however, i dont see order growth ... when that'll happen is a mystery.. when the stock takes off, it really will... but the orders need to start flowing in for this to be a good investment.. so time the SATA cycle, and you'll get a winner in this one
Why Comverse is Better Priced Than Amdocs [View article]
DOX is more of an SI company now(like ACN) than ever before. They do crm+billing+oss+conten... management. This co has the potential to make it real big once the big bell's of the world go all IP! Thats why the shares are trading at all time high. In the grand scheme of things, comverse is nothing but a miniscule blip.

STP always financed suppliers to ensure silicon supply. This may have more to do with STP's strategy of positioning for the future than general silicon shortage.
