    Hi James,

Any possibility in your view that EXXI could suffer something similar to NFX's big drop yesterday?

Hope not because I'm long EXXI.

  • The Death Of Ivan Ilyich And The Portuguese State Budget For 2013 [View article]
    Hi mdmrjsds,

No, I'm not saying a benevolent dictatorship, that's unthinkable nowadays, for sure. But a consented subordination to the economic planification of central Europe, could be more realistic (it even could be done by a controlled default, as you said). European Parliament could maintain it horizontal egalitarian appearance, but a few countries decide the big issues (en enforce them). I think France is proposing something like this.

I live in Argentina, and a lot of people here would love to follow Brazil's economic and political leadership (without being colonized by them or something like that, just an agreement about a plan arranged mostly by them). There's a point in which local politicians simply can't provide any solution (those in government and opposition alike).

But I agree with your outlook almost 100%. Almost impossible to implement (at least before a total collapse of the economic and political systems).

  • The Death Of Ivan Ilyich And The Portuguese State Budget For 2013 [View article]
I agree, mdmrjsds, except in defaulting as a viable solution. Iceland is not Portugal, Spain nor Italy. I see them more like Argentina, and they don't have the natural resources that Argentina has used to start growing after defaulting.

Also political turmoil would follow, and produce a domino effect, imo. I'd say the solution is Germany, UK, and may be France, taking these countries' economies in their hand for a certain period of time, managing a soft-landing and then stablishing a stable productive model (with another standard of living as you said).
Difficult to put this in practice, but the only way out I find.

    Regards to all.

Good Article. Insisting on these policies won't improove the economic situation. It's looks like all that these people can do is asking for money printing and / or taking misguided austerity measures. To bad, no real solutions in the near term.
