  • 4 Risky Car Stocks For Speculative Investors [View article]
Please cite a reliable source that states Ford asked for a bailout.

Edit: qw's comment didn't load when I posted my question. I share qw's skepticism about some of the content in this article. That said, analyst prediction is overly-optimistic and should be taken cautiously.

  • 2 Stocks Under $10 That Might Have Upside, 2 To Avoid [View article]
A minor thought: the bottom line of fast-food franchises was/is impacted negatively by the recession, as more consumers chose lower-cost offerings (dollar menu) or chose to avoid eating out entirely (or eating entirely). If the economy recovers even moderately in 2012, I would imagine that companies like WEN, MCD, BKC will register the impact relatively early.

Another question: Can the self-debasing tactics taken by WEN and DPZ have a positive impact as long as either continues the apologetic advertisements?

  • Is Apple About To Become Netflix? [View article]
I hope for the sake of AAPL shareholders that Apple measures several times before it cuts any checks for content acquisition. The company has practically become the definition of profitability without ever trying to manufacture that sort of product. If I owned AAPL shares, this sort of possible future would have me thinking about selling while I am still rich.

Great article, will definitely be following your work. Stryker (SYK) is a sure winner in my view, and I was pleased to see it mentioned.

  • The pay restrictions GM agreed to as a condition for receiving government aid in 2009 could hurt its ability to retain top employees, claims North American chief Mark Reuss. 13 months after GM said it would seek a relaxation of some pay restrictions, many remain in place. (earlier)  [View news story]
Perhaps such a discussion would be appropriate after GM has proven that it has highly-valuable employees.

Is not failing the new succeeding?

  • Why Netflix Is A Buy [View article]
Thank you, screamin187. I wondered if anyone else noticed the discrepancies. I'm not sure that the author intended it, but the opening lines of this article are *very* misleading.

With regard to the stock itself, I am sure there are plenty of NFLX shareholders who are desperately hoping that other investors will smell a bargain. The issues facing Netflix and their content acquisition costs have been well discussed in other articles here on SA.

  • Bank On It: Financials Will Lead The Way In 2012 [View article]
I'm not sure that I agree with the statement that 'we know what the hell we are doing'. I do agree with the fact that BAC shares are likely to gain value.

I think this for two reasons: 1) the banks have assets, not all of which are toxic. At current valuations, a purchaser is getting a very good deal on the banks' *good* stuff. Expensive litigation, European uncertainty, toxic debt... these aren't going away, but they aren't the whole picture. 2) 'Too Big Too Fail' hasn't changed any more than our interest-driven government has reformed. Who really, truly, honestly believes that any of the banks referred to by the author are going anywhere anytime soon? Be real.

  • Despite Egyptian Troubles, Apache Looks Attractively Valued [View article]
How refreshing, the author actually owns some shares of what he is discussing!

I'm not up for investment in energy at the moment, but I enjoyed the read. Cheers.

  • You Cannot Put A Value On Your Favorite Stock [View article]
I enjoy reading your work on SA, and agree with much of what you say re: quantitative v. qualitative analysis... but why cheapen your arguments with insults toward those who were wrong? You already won!

  • Bank Of America Will Likely Bottom At $5 [View article]
Could you please include more information on why you think BAC will bottom out at $5? You mentioned a developing technical trend briefly, but the rest of the article is more of a refresher on BoA basics. Elaborate?

  • 2 Video Game Makers That Should Have A Prosperous 2012 [View article]
Thank you for the article Mr. Jensen, I always enjoy reading your work.

For some time I've found the gaming market niche interesting, if not particularly attractive one for investment. Activision-Blizzard (or perhaps just Blizzard), is responsible for making some of the most popular and profitable games ever made. Blizzard also has more iterations of its successful franchises left to sell (Diablo III will definitely make ATVI a huge sum money in 2012).

    Two questions for long-term investors:

    1) Should we be concerned that the company's biggest cash-cow ever (World of Warcraft) looks to finally be showing its age? See: http://bit.ly/s5KAWv

    2) When is the last time you noticed Blizzard release a *new* intellectual property? Should investors be concerned about the long-term creative glut at Blizzard?

  • Bank Of America: A Double In Share Price Is Now Underway [View article]
Bonuscd, please go back to your protest tent.

I'm concerned about some of the same issues mentioned by Moon Kil Woong, but I'm certainly hoping for $10 shares anyway!
