Actually what will happen when people realize that they don't have to spend huge amounts of money on tech ?! I am writing from Galaxy Tab which costs 50% of price of iPad, my HTC phone is worth 40% of price of iPhone, my Dell laptop is worth 40% of price of MacBook Air and my desktop is worth 25% of price of iMac and I am synchronizing all of these with Google Drive, Dropbox and Box, and I'm not missing anything for the moment ...

  • Ramping iPad Mini production is proving just as tough as ramping iPhone 5 production, claims Apple (AAPL) uber-bull Brian White. White thinks yield issues (ed: this could be related to the Mini's reported touchscreen tech) have put the tablet 4-6 weeks behind Apple's original launch schedule, but still thinks December quarter sales of 5M-7M units are possible. [View news story]
What is important, is that people are looking past Apple, they have finally realized that there is nothing special about Apple products and that they are paying 1/2 of the price of the device just because it has got a bitten apple on the back. Eventually this day was supposed to come, sooner or later ...

  • Is this a sign of bottoming PC demand, or are the industry's inventory woes about to worsen? Digitimes reports Taiwanese contract manufacturers boosted their notebook shipments to top OEMs in September, as vendors increase supplies ahead of Windows 8's (MSFT) Oct. 26 launch - H-P (HPQ) saw a 70% M/M shipment increase, Asus 50%, and Acer 30%. Williams Financial is encouraged by the report, and says it's consistent with talks the firm has had with Taiwanese supply chain contacts. (Clover Trail delays[View news story]
You should definitely wait a little bit, and after Windows 8 comes alive, get one of the convertibles so you get to have a notebook and a tablet. I personally like Windows 8, used it for a while and I believe it will be a good experience on the tablet (maybe even beat the iPad experience)
