  • Apple (AAPL) has added 4 more Samsung (SSNLF.PK) products, including the hit Galaxy S III and the Note 10.1 tablet, to a U.S. patent suit that's separate from the one that delivered a favorable jury verdict last week. The suit, which is related to 4 software patents and now involves 21 devices, is also being filed on Apple's home turf, via the U.S. District Court of Northern California. The S III and Note 10.1 arrived too late to be among the devices Apple could request bans for in response to its jury win. [View news story]

Don't forget that China is becoming number 1 market for smartpones and Europe is not far away, so you probably know that Apple can not stop Samsung out of US. My next phone will be Samsung, and you can just drop dead about it

  • If there was any lingering doubt Samsung's (SSNLF.PK) Galaxy S line has an unrivaled cachet in the Android universe, Strategy Analytics' Q3 data should remove it. The firm estimates 18M S III units were shipped, giving the device a 10.7% share of total smartphone shipments. It also estimates Apple (AAPL), which sold 26.9M iPhones overall, is believed to have shipped 16.2M iPhone 4S units and 6M iPhone 5 units. Samsung's total Q3 smartphone shipments were previously pegged at 56.9M. Key Galaxy S III suppliers: MXIM, SWKS, ADNC, BRCM[View news story]

  • More on the iPad Mini: The cheapest model (16GB Wi-Fi) goes for $329. Amazon and Google, sellers of the $199 Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7, are probably breathing sighs of relief. As expected, there's no retina display inside the Mini, but there is an HD front camera and 5MP back camera, and 3G/4G models are offered (they start at $459). Like the iPad 2, the Mini is powered by an A5 processor. Apple (AAPL -2.2%) is selling off. (live blog). [View news story]
Apple is selling something for $329 hmmm what to reckon of this ?!

  • An 8GB Wi-Fi-only version of the iPad Mini (AAPL) will cost just $249, according to an inventory screenshot leak - that would make the device, expected to sport a 7.85" display, $50 more expensive than the 7" 8GB Nexus 7 and 16GB Kindle Fire HD. But a 16Gb Wi-Fi version will go for $349, as will an 8GB 3G/4G version. The most costly model listed (a 64GB 3G/4G unit) will reportedly sell for $649. Apple is expected to unveil the Mini at an Oct. 23 event. (retina MacBook Pro[View news story]

  • Has the iPhone lost its "wow" factor, and if so, is it something for Apple (AAPL +1.2%) to be truly worried about? A day after the iPhone 5 launch, the press is alight with commentary declaring the device a good upgrade, but nothing more. Some think the effectiveness of the Apple rumor mill might be to blame. Either way, the big question is how much a lack of excitement will affect sales when Apple can still claim an edge in customer loyalty and apps, and can tout hardware features that often match or exceed those of rivals. [View news story]
Well Samsung Galaxy SIII certainly had "wow" factor ... so did Nokia Lumia 920 ...

  • If you can't beat 'em, hire 'em. Apple (AAPL), stung by the flare-up over iOS 6 Maps, is reportedly aggressively recruiting ex-Google Maps (GOOG) employees who helped build up the product's giant data libraries. Meanwhile, a Google product manager tells TechCrunch the company relies on 1,300 data sources to make Google Maps, and integrates them all using a proprietary system called Atlas. [View news story]

  • Android Is Dead, Part 3: The Numbers [View article]
What security? Security in Android is breached once people go ahead and install non-market stuff, same like when people jailbreak their iPhones so basically it's the same thing. I have my Android phone for 3 years now and I never ever had any security issue or incident.

  • A German court declares Motorola Mobility (GOOG) is infringing Apple's (AAPL) "overscroll bounce" (a.k.a. "rubber banding") patent, and has demanded all infringing phones and tablets be recalled. Google has already developed a workaround for the patent, which Samsung was ruled to be infringing in Apple's big California win. (German licensing deal[View news story]
