It looks like there will be a settlement here. Enough damage has been done and both sides are prepared for a compromise. There are all sorts of claims about BA using this to catch up ...or the Union angry at the CEO's salary, but these are normal speculations and Labor contracts get settled at some point...and it appears this is the point. 50% of the strikers would prefer to come back to work

If you read the GAO report, it is quite clear that the Air Force's decision was far from balanced. There was no fair playing field and that was finally recognized. The fact the several of John McCain;s staff were lobbyists for Northrop seems to escape many. This bid has become terribly convoluted and political beyond the boundaries that make for a reasonable and objective choice. Boeing has been forced to spend millions on a plane that is more than adequate and is asked to comply with a changing set of demands in two weeks. It has become absurd.
There has been complete transparency from Boeing well before last weeks announcement. The inference of suits or management failures is alarmist and not relevent.
Both Conference calls were fully descriptive and the analogy ti an Airbus situation if exaggerated. Postponing the first flight is not a disaster given the magnitude of the process and production glitches.
