CHK in financial trouble nd no way out. I remember this happening when I first jumped in. Wish I had gotten out at $35 and now see CHK as a major drain and heading FOR SALE.

  • Annaly Capital Management Inspires Confidence [View article]
Thanks for the calming article. I am long NLY and totally agree with management's style. Too many times I have jumped out of good companies only to see them flourish while I sat holding my money in fear. I like the steadiness of the NLY management in the face of a very confusing FED and Administration.

  • 3M (MMM) is partnering with Chesapeake Energy (CHK) to develop and sell a family of compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks for vehicles. The companies boast their tanks will be cheaper, lighter, and safer than current solutions, while offering 10%-20% more capacity. Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE +2.7%), which in July received a $150M investment from Chesapeake, is rallying on the news.  [View news story]
CLNE is hurting until our government OK's natural gas for vehicles and then it will be for trucks not cars. With that said there is an interest by GM (and a stake by them) in WPRT for it's gas conversion units. CLNE is Boone Pickens baby.

  • Mr. Market And Chesapeake's Monetization Plans [View article]
Problem with CHK and it's asset sales is that shareholders lose assets while management makes money. The Aubrey gets a burr in his behind and buys something else like a boat or paintings or some wasted persoanl asset. Meanwhile us shareholders who have believed in him and hung on ae being hung out to dry.

  • As Bank of America soared Thursday on chatter of a mass-refinancing plan, mortgage REITs slid on worries of prepayments slashing returns on their holdings of MBS. The trend was reversed Friday after an administration official denied the rumors, but mREIT investors remain wary as NY Fed chief Dudley suggests intervention to reduce obstacles to refinancing. For now, many continue to offer double-digit dividends.  [View news story]
It is a political thing and is NOT dead yet according to reports from New York financial gurus. Obama will push for it.

  • Why Won't The Stock Market Believe In Chesapeake Energy's Business Model? [View article]
If Aubrey's is hedged out to far and the financial credit markets tighten - We could be facing another BIG decrease in common stock value. As it is the selling of (partnering) to others to pay for production already decreases the value of the shareholder and it seems to be continuing unrestricted?? That is my personal concern.

  • Investors To Chesapeake: Show Us The Money [View article]
Aubrey keeps giving away stockholders money and value. With all these new spinoffs more of the value is given to new investers while those who hold up the main body get it stuck to them. Also, why are only preferred shares being offered?

I think that Aubrey is tweeking the books while pocketing many channels of income for himself and his flock. Sorry, but I am one that is stuck in this dead investment (bought JUST before Aubrey needed money) and sank this puppy.
