  • Crisis on. S&P 500 futures -1% and the euro -1.2% as Brussels "faced with a drowning member state, instead of throwing the Cypriot people a lifebuoy, (throws) a millstone around its neck." EU leaders risk triggering bank runs in Cyprus (and elsewhere?) by going after bank depositors to fund the country's bank bailout. [View news story]
Putin does not like this, he is angry with the new Cypriot president Anastasiadis who was elected about a week ago.
Putin called and told the Cypriot if he goes along with this German idea is like hanging a German flag outside the presidential office.

  • Why Is Leon Cooperman Selling Apple And Buying Freeport McMoran? [View article]
If you know anything about wall street guys about selling or buying, they tell after the fact. This is a big poker game, you don't show your hand before all the money is in. naturally he bought FCX and now wants the price up. He knows this deal will not happen and he is hoping for a quick snapback of FCX, b/c the share holders have been raped, the co is borrowing 12+ billion to pay for the premium of MMR that the FCX top management is receiving, this is clear conflict of interest.

  • Sometimes You Need A Plan B To Your Plan B [View article]
Special dividends are paid out of the co's cash reserves and I think every stock holder gets some, in this case the CEO is borrowing 12 billion plus to pay for his 2 or 3 million shares he owns of MMR, there is a diff. I think

This deal is not going to happen, too much conflict of interest for the top executives. The new elect senator Elizabeth Warren will protect the share holders of FCX that lost their shirt after the deal was announced. This deal clearly benefits the CEO and his co-thieves.
