I agree with the author, a real story stock and a disruptive technology. This company, unlike many, has significant orders from tool makers as well as the auto companies. The issue here is ramp up, not lack of a proven technology.

Jack, that performance might put you in the top20% of hedge funds :-) You should ask for your 2/20 deal straightaway.
Seriously though, how do you see the PWE payout being sustained, is there any history in PWE's past that suggests when they might cut a payout, i.e. if oil goes to $104 within 2 quarters they'll cut the distribution by X%?
I realize that's asking alot but you seem to know what you're talking about.

New Rules at Freddie Mac Likely To Backfire
$800 for a loan mod? There should be hoards of cold callers calling these delinquent homeowners and offering a 40 year term at 6.5% if for no other reason than desperation. What a way to reward the undisciplined.

I like Saut's overall approach and his reco of ALSK is spot on. As to a double ETF for the oils, a resounding no. I'm still in the oil to $100-$110 camp, for the short term and long oils here is no good. Longer term though, yeah, I'd be long but why now when you can wait and buyitcheaper.

Bill Miller on This Tough Market
I see great opportunities in these sectors VERY VERY selectively so. I like LSBX and a few others there are one or two around Washington DC/Virginia too. These are very focused, regional/community banks that have a good local franchise and would not have been as likely to have been caught up in this disaster, but those seem to be very few and far between. Happy homework...

Default Risk of U.S. Automaker Debt: Too Big to Fail?
TBF? How about TSTS - Too Stupid To Survive? The big 3 are abject failures in management. The unions a big part of this failure in choking the golden goose with the rope of excessive benefits. (when the cost of healthcare and pensions is almost half the cost of production you have a problem.)

No, we have no need of an umbrella company like GM any longer who as recently as a year ago were pressing forward with their "big truck" idea as visionary. What a farce.

They've been outmanaged, outmaneuvered and simply pummeled by better foreign firms who focused on quality up and down the supply chain. When a new GM car is worth LESS than a 3 year old toyota equivalent, that says a hell of a lot about the public's perception of GM product.

No, not too big to fail, too stupid to survive. Pave over Detroit, (specifically its management) or better yet, wait a few more years and most of the workers will be in the south east working at Toyota and Hyundai plants.

      Learning to Love SmartPros
I am a CPA and I've used smartpros' newsletters and Loscalzo's training sessions. I knew the margins were good, but whoa! This is a good play right now because of the IFRS GAAP convergence and transition is going to be as big as SOX was a few years ago and I'd expect such courses (unfortunately for me) to command a premium.

Is the Dollar Rallying on Realigned Expectations?
It's rallying b/c long term rates are going up, significantly, that's killing gold and oil, and that's strengthening the buck. PLUS other countries are acting intelligently and raising rates themselves which perversely it seems to be strengthening the dollar as well. I think we MIGHT see oil below $100 by year end, only to see it double in the next five years or less.

User - not a chance, it is almost a metaphysical certainty that as the US prints more money AND borrows more for its ever growing commitments, and thus drives more inflation, rates MUST go up. Short considerations - TBT PST RRPIX among others, good luck.

I agree with the award. One couldn't possibly award it to Boeing without the taint of scandal. Was it though a possible gift to Sarkozy since he's a new "friend of Bush?" I wonder. I doubt it would've happened with the former head of the country.
