  • HD Supply Seeing A Turn In Non-Residential Construction  [View article]
I bet that A/R is at an all time high . The sales teem is told to sell to every contractor with projects on the books. And every one is paying payroll first
The owners and Prime Contractors are holding monies for 90 days.
This winter has pushed nonproductive costs of heating and tapping to off the
    budget extremes.
HDS better have deep pockets or forgiving bankers because the carrying
cost for this winter slow paying contractors will stress the total flow between
    Purchasing and Sping time sales.

  • Homebuilders Tumble: Should You Buy NVR?  [View article]
    A view from the ground floor;
The sales & earnings numbers will be stronger because NVR
shot out of starting gate lean and in shape to go the distance. I am
now hearing suppliers and contractors grumbling over the break-even
prices negotiated in 2009. Many subcontractors have walked away
from NVR for higher paying contracts at DR Horton and Pulte .
NVR is still the safe play because management has seen this
    game played out before.

  • Kraft's Cheese Has Already Been Moved Far Enough  [View article]
KRAFT is now a company in the quest for an identity. The executive management made a bundle splitting up this firm and turning KRFT into a mere domestic low growth super market supplier. Middle Managers over 50 years of age are being pushed out and than replaced with 25 year old MBA types, with executive orders to push their tired products onto a consumer that is demanding less processed foods.
( Rumor Alert) Cost cutting at the manufacturing side, and sales department in order to show increasing earnings will lead to a sale or a merger with in three years.

  • The Best Agriculture ETFs Of 2012  [View article]
Just thinking about two events rolling into this 2013 planting season: The congress may change the subsidies on land made fallow or in protected soil conservancy. Any thoughts on the probability of less rainfall this year and next ,and how many acres will be plowed in order to be a profitable agribusiness man?
Do you think there will be less water thirsty crops (corn) planted? And more drier tolerant crops planted?
