David Anderson is a retired investment professional with experience as a private equity and hedge fund manager, investment banker, and corporate financial and accounting professional. Mr. Anderson retired as a Partner from Palo Alto Investors, LLC in May 2010 after nine years, during which time he helped grow the firm from $130 million in assets to over $1.5 billion. Mr. Anderson founded the firm’s Energy practice in 2001, was named Portfolio Manager for the Palo Alto Global Energy Fund in 2004, and became the Director of Research in 2007. Prior to his experience at Palo Alto Investors, he spent two years as First Vice President of Investment Banking at OffRoad Capital, where he specialized in raising equity for early-stage growth companies. From 1996 to 1999, he was a Vice President of Investment Banking at Bank of America Securities, where he helped middle –market clients develop capital raising strategies for growth, buyouts, and leveraged recapitalizations. Mr. Anderson began his career in 1985 at Chevron Corporation, where he spent 8 years in accounting, auditing, financial analysis, and management reporting roles across various business lines including natural gas exploration and production, chemicals, transportation, mining, and unconventional oil production. He has served on various Boards of Directors, including Fisker Automotive, where he led the initial investment round prior to the Company’s first prototype plug-in hybrid vehicle. Mr. Anderson earned his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in 1995 and his BS (Accounting) from California State University, Sacramento in 1985.
