  • Chesapeake Energy: Earnings and Shale Drama [View article]
Good analysis. CHK's hedging policy pays off with weak gas prices and has been the backbone of their success over the years. I am a long time holder of CHK (27,000 shares) and also own XTO, COP, XOM, CVX and a load of oil service & drilling companies. I have heavy exposure to the pipelines through KMP, OKS, MWE, EEP & TPP, all of whom have recently raised their dividends. Of all my investments, the fact that McClendon has been a huge buyer of the company's stock in the open market puts his interest along side that of the rest of the stockholders. As far as XTO is concerned, Bob Simpson is the largest stockholder and not a buddy of Aubrey. He has watched CHK grow faster than his own company in terms of production and cash flow, and I suppose jealousy is an issue.

  • Not Calling Crude Oil Prices a Bubble For Now [View article]
We don't need wind energy. Just harness all the hot air coming out of the Politicians and our energy problem is solved. Until that happens, I will be long CHK, XTO, COP, XOM, EP, WMB, HAL, SLB, NE, NBR, PDC, PDS, etc. etc

  • Chesapeake Energy: Truckin', Like the Do-Dah Man [View article]
I've been a CHK shareholder for 8 years, hold 27,000 shares and have no problem with a secondary to pay off debt. The dilution will be minimized by increased production and lower borrowing costs through pay down of debt. CHK has the best management team in the energy area, and I suggest you calm down. Carl Ichan's record hasn't been too good lately..... McClendon has been hitting home runs!

  • EOG Resources: Continue to Buy on Pullbacks [View article]
Why should the Saudi's use up their reserves when the U.S. won't? The Democrats want $8.00 gasoline and they will get it! I doubt if Kerry, Kennedy et al and their greenie friends will give up their limo's and SUV's.

  • Gas but Not Least - Cramer's Mad Money (6/18/08) [View article]
Cramer is a moron, only exceeded by those who swear by him. I have been Investing in energy since 1999 when oil was $12 bbl and nat. gas wass 1.72 mcf. I have and do still own CHK, COP,XOM, XTO. CVX, HK, numerous oil service & drillers and recently sold DVN which I had purchased at $7.00. Over those years I have heard Cramer scream buy, sell, buy sell, etc. ad nauseum. When a stock is at it's high, he yells, buy, buy, buy, and when it falls back he turns like a weathervane and yells sell. The normal ratio between oil & natural gas is 8-1 not 6-1, and natural gas will probably pull back into the $9-10 area, at which time Cramer with his clownlike appearance will, sweat,a wipe his brow and say take it off the table. He is an idiot and only exceeded by his fans. Since the cost of producing natural gas is less than $3.00 mcf, even $9.00 provides a nice margin. Also look at the drillers and service Companies, like PDC, HAL,RIG, NE, DO, PDS (which pays a 5% dividend), HERO, etc . I own them all.
