I started out at age 5 reading WSJ quotes out to my father so that he could chart the stocks he owned and ones he was interested in possibly buying. Worked long hours in a small business of my husband's and did all the investing for us. Moved to a different coast and started out rehabbing houses, so I turned the management of my investments over to a financial advisor who was highly recommended by my attorney. Big mistake. He made a mess of things, and now I'm reaquainting myself with the hundreds of stocks he had in my portfolio (ridiculous in one the size of mine), and trying to make good decisions on what to keep, what to sell, and what, if anything, to buy. I'm a value investor and doing a lot of reading about that subject. Love all the good advice on Seeking Alpha. Thanks.
