  • The 'Real' Reason Gold Will See $5000 [View article]
Correct me if I'm mistaken Avi, but wasn't only gold & silver considered money at the time that Biblical quote was originally penned? ;)

  • Gold Is Against The Ropes [View article]
The beating the metals have been taking since the highs of the early 2010's just keeps on happening. It has gotten me to wonder if there is an absolute bottom, a spot price for Gold & the other metals that can't reasonably expected to go any lower.

Is there such a thing as an "Absolute Bottom" other than zero, which I believe is not possible.

  • Gold - Why This Geopolitical Issue Is Different (Part II) [View article]
Can the economic pressure that Russia brings to bear be sufficient to overcome the vice-like grip that the Exchange Stabilisation Fund exerts over the spot prices of Gold & Silver through its proxies of JPMorgan et al?

As you may be aware JPMorgan & 7 other unnamed investment banks have been the target of cyber attack by Russian hacktivists of immense sophistication & power. It was this piece of information that in addition to todays invasion of Ukraine that convinced me to slap the enter key on a purchase of silver bullion today rather than sweat it out and wait for a fall to the $18US/ozt range.

I believe that we have entered into the endgame of this struggle to dethrone the US Dollar as the global reserve currency.

  • Special Edition On Gold: What Are Long-Term Investors To Do? [View article]
Thank you Avi. You have never spoken more clearly and directly than you have in this article. Clear warning is being served here by you, and only a fool would disregard it. I will watch for this bottom to come, if we're not there now, and with your advice time my next and final purchase of silver on this dip. I will sit on my metal till my price/ratio target is hit or my current mortgage term expires in 2018Q4, whichever comes first.

While you're speaking about Gold & GLD I am translating across into Silver & SLV as this is the metal I've the wherewithal to invest in. With the higher volatility of silver will come greater rises & falls, yet the two are bound together, as if with stout bungee cords. Gold is the arm that wields the sling, but silver is the stone in the pocket. When and if Gold falls to its bottom, wherever that may be, silver will by necessity be proportionately lower. Conversely, when the arm of Gold is flexed upwards & the sling is tossed silver will rise even faster.

The ratios of Silver to Gold now sits at roughly 63:1, and when gold reaches its next zenith silver will rise past it. Ratios will fall to maybe 20:1, perhaps even 15:1 or better. I'll liquidate my silver then, hopefully paying off my house, and with what's left over, if any, crossing over to Gold.

I will never be without some precious metals in my physical possession again.

Then why oh why are the Chinese the number one buyers of Gold in the world and on track to purchase almost the entire global production for this year?

It's not like they can't buy premium real estate AND gold now is it?

Yes, I'm sure that QE∞ and the now revealed manipulation of Gold & Silver have nothing to do with it.

Greed and Fear,… isn't that what motivates all markets?

No, it won't bogi. What I fear is that it doesn't fall below $18 and my finger remains poised over my enter key waiting for a price point that never comes and then silver goes ballistic. But at least I could console myself with what silver I have now.

Look,… you people seem to be all about trading GLD & SLV and other metal based ETFs & derivatives for short term gains & shorting on expected drops. You're all in a rush to make big money fast.

I hope Avi's right, I hope that GLD & SLV take a severe beating and drop precipitously. But there will be a moment as those ETFs bottom and where the spot price will fall. I think that bottom will come just before these ETFs experience massive outflows of metal. I believe that will indicate that many of these "custodians" behind these funds grab the metal and run. The next sign is the COMEX defaults, paying out in fiat, and after that you will see all the metals go "NO ASK".

So I am watching and waiting for a spot for silver of $17.50US maybe even <$17.00 and then I'll go all in with my measly fiat reserves and get my hands on as much physical silver coins & bars as I can. Then sit on it for a while.

So I ask Avi, can silver reasonably be expected to go much lower than say $16.50?

  • Silver: Triple Bottom Or Lower Lows? [View article]
Silver is my particular vehicle for savings over the long haul. I've been dollar cost averaging now for about two years, and I did buy on that dip at $18.40US. Should a treble bottom hit within the next few months to $17.50US I have already told the wife that we're buying more bullion,… for sure.

I believe that over the next five years Silver will appreciate significantly. I am sure it will surpass its previous high, and will venture into new territory. I have heard from some pundits that $100US is not out of range, and I hope they're right.

  • ADRs A Better Hedge Than Gold? [View article]
Gold is not a currency, it is money. A "Maloneyesque" differentiation perhaps, but one I ascribe to.

Gold & Silver have been "money" for more than 5000 years, these metals still have value on their own, inherently. I can show you hundreds of examples of paper "currency" that no longer have any value other than for personal hygiene after toilet usage.

Name one fiat currency that has retained it's value after, say, 100 years. I don't think you can. But that same gold coin with Alexander the Great stamped upon it that Uncle Pie mentions, ignoring it's numismatic value, still is worth the weight of the gold that composes it.

I understand that the Global economy has expanded so much that it is in some ways impossibly difficult to use Gold or Silver coinage any longer, that the value of the economy has dwarfed the value of all gold & silver held for investment purposes. Yet in many ways this massive multi-quadrillion global economy built of international trade, equities and derivatives is a very complex house of cards. Should that house collapse all that will be left is the products made by the sweat of our brows to be purchased with gold & silver.
