  • Whoa! ConocoPhillips Has Moved Too Far Too Fast [View article]
"The Street," "Seeking Alpha," "Motley Fool" - what happened?

Did someone declare that the "battle of the hype machines" commence on COP?

  • Whoa! ConocoPhillips Has Moved Too Far Too Fast [View article]
I wonder what stock price - any and all stocks, not just COP - would be "realized" if all talking heads, all articles, all commenters, were absolutely SILENT for a month.

In other words, only companies' statistics were available to people buying/selling stock in companies. I wonder what the stock manipulators would do then. It is extremely difficult to believe "manipulation" is not involved; the hourly swings in some stocks are humorous.

I am simply wondering. Obviously, I will never find out.

  • Vale Hit Hardest By Global Iron Ore Glut [View article]
You seem to say whatever pops into your head.

Below you "explained" why Vale might want to change the CEO - Murillo Ferreira. Here you point at the Brazilian government's mismanagement of Vale. Why don't you acknowledge that Ferreira has done a great job considering the ALL the circumstances.

".....extremely hesitant to replace management." ?????????

WHY would anyone want Murilo Ferreira "REPLACED?"

Does this suggest Johnson is shilling for some traders?

  • ConocoPhillips: Global Diversification And Robust Liquidity At A Discount [View article]
Wasn't COP at $64 a few months ago. Now buy at $80? From whom am I buying? The buyers at $64 who "advised" to wait until it entered the $50 range?

  • Commodities Today: Coal And Iron Ore Companies Heading Lower? [View article]
Technically, you are correct. Vale's major mines produce ore at a slightly higher cost than RIO and BHP - but you are talking pennies. Moreover, Vale does incur higher transportation costs.

However, there is no 62% iron ore. Vale's best mines produce the highest quality - you omit this "detail," assuming that you are even aware of this fact.

Vale's yield and P/E are significantly more favorable to RIO's and the management appears as pro-stockholder as the others. The Brazil government is another story - but it is also the majority shareholder.

I am long Vale and, therefore, shilling for myself.

You state you have no positions in the stocks mentioned. But, are you shilling for anyone - shorts, people who want to go long at a lower price? Just wondering.

Generally speaking, these "iron ore articles" pop up "every 5 minutes."

  • Vale S.A.: A Buy Or A Sell? [View article]
There is only one purpose to this "ore up, ore down, ore sideways" barrage of articles that are CONSTANTLY "paraded."

    TO CHURN THE MINING STOCKS.

RBC: "Breach of convenants possible" - 5-28-2014.

This theme has been associated with CLF for quite some time. Yet, we get this article and a commenter stating: great article Ethan!

  • Are Vale S.A. And Cliffs Natural Resources Good Investments? [View article]
Will there be an "announcement" when Metal and Mineral Prices ARE ABOUT to "stabilize" or will we be told AFTER the prices have "stabilized," the mining stocks have been run up in price, and the insiders are looking for fools to unload their mining stocks?

In other words, NO BELL is rung when one should buy. VALE is yielding 6%. Accept the dividend as "payment" for waiting and stop guessing.

Didn't I read somewhere that timing the market is impossible?

  • Vale... Ya? Not Yet. Still Reckless, Not Contrarian. [View article]
Dear sethmcs: Do yourself a favor. DO NOT TRADE OPTIONS.

"Who in the world" do you "think" is going to buy a "put" from you and then "assign" you his/her/its shares when he/she/it could sell the stock above $12?

  • Commodities Today: Buys And Sells Heading Into The Weekend [View article]
RIO and BHP production "MIGHT" take a toll on VALE "EVENTUALLY."

An article by Bloomberg is cited as a reason to avoid the iron ore market. BUT that article suggests iron ore prices might FIRM in coming months. Yet, you state that iron ore prices are set for a continued downturn.

So readers, take your choice. Follow the author and do not buy into the iron ore market. Or follow the article the author cites and assume that iron ore prices will firm.

As for me? I will assume iron ore prices will fluctuate and that VALE is undervalued relative to RIO and BHP.

    Disclosure: I am long VALE.
