  • WASDE Report: Corn And Soybean Production Fall [View article]
That is great news! Everything on your list is genetically modified and as such highly toxic to human bodies. Much illness could be avoided if we could just get back to unadulterated food in this country. I would like to see GMO outlawed in the US as it is in Europe and elsewhere. We actually grow unmodified corn, wheat and soy for export. That's our lovely FDA for ya! Now they are growing GMO salmon and other frankenfish and who knows what all else - YUM!!

    You're welcome,

I know, I know!!! That's the one I would have sold yesterday and bought back at some time, not sure it would have been today, I was in shock most of the day, and ended up buying up my usual Germans, they never let me down. But darn, we could have made some money, eh RS?

Thanks Gio ... I was going to check on that this morning, thought about it, because I got a $25 dividend for some JPM I owned and sold way back, and I was pretty sure I didn't own it on the day they paid it. Oh well, live and learn .... c'est la vie!!

So, is everyone off in the corner, licking their wounds ... like me?

There is so much I don't know about investing, I could write a book about it. Or maybe an article. "Things I didn't know before I started, but learned as I went along ..." any takers, lol?

Wish I had known that I didn't have to own the stock on the day of payment of dividend, only on the day of record. That right there could have saved me around ..... oh, quite a bit!!

So, RS - how long will this turnaround take? Any wild guesses out there? I'm actually not down as much as I have been before, so I'll shut up and just wait for now.

Glad you're here though, at least we have a place to vent.

So, what did you get for your birthday, anything good??? ;)

lol ... well, if you had a hat today, you would have to hold on to it, it's gonna be a bumpy ride - at least for some of us. I'm holding some of those German stocks, and boy oh boy, are they gonna go down, down, down .... but you know, as soon as the Italians have their meetings, it'll all come back up again.

    Good buying opportunities though ....

    Enjoy the ride!! ;)

Thanks for the tip, I had not heard of this company before, but always looking for good longterm investments!

I feel the same way about ALE - not the beer, haha - but I've owned that one for many years, and haven't heard others talk about it much.

Haha, you are too funny, Walt and Gio!

A friend at work has been brewing some incredible beer and ale, first bottle he brought me to try was a Weizen, yum ... then a bottle of his Belgian Ale, that was even better, now I have another one sitting at home waiting for me, another kind of Belgian Ale. Not that I'm a coinneseur or anything, just that I'm from Germany and we have some of the best beers in the world, strict laws for cleanliness etc.

*sorry for the OT, but now I'm wondering if some of those breweries don't have some shares to sell? hmmmm ... going to check it out! LOEWENBRAU!!!

    ;)

Hey RS - you look bored .. and where is your hat? Did you give it to that guy asking about the certificates and your hat? haha

I'm busy getting my IRA set up today, and this article came in handy, just in the nick of time!

Thanks for all the good info,
    Barb ;)
