Why are dividend yields so low? Should it not be more like 7% at the bottom?

The yield curve has been contracting since mid March. There is a danger of inverting.

The Dollar Index and the Financial Sector
It seems that everyone is on the "FED will raise rates" bandwagon. The correct contrarian point would be to actually expect rates to decline.
If you look at the bond market, traders have been expecting lower rates since mid june of this year. The 10 year T yield dropped from 4.26% to 3.77% as of today. The 1 year T trading right now 2.16%. Very close, too close, to the FED yield. The yield curve is contracting since mid March.
My bet is that the FED will LOWER RATES before year end.

The Disconnect Between Supply and Demand in Gold and Silver Markets, Part II
Of course the US Mint has gold coins for sale. However, none of them for the current spot price or fractions thereof. Price for 1 oz gold eagle: $1,119.95!! Clearly, the mint does not 'buy' the low spot price either. Double Oops...

Looming Financial Catastrophe: A Real Inconvenient Truth
Fisher: "If you can't solve a problem, get the central bank to print your way out of it. And we won't do that. I won't do that anyway.”

FACT: EVERY state in history has resorted to money-printing to devalue the debt.
FACT: The FED is not independent. It must do as the treasury pleases.
FACT: If Fisher does not want to print, someone else will.

Fair enough, User 171367. My target allocation for gold and silver is 10% each. II plan to sell when DOW/GOLD ratio is below 3.

Indeed, there is no discrepancy between GLD and the FUTURES PRICE. However, there is a discrepancy between the above and the PRICE of PHYSICAL GOLD.
Did you try to reedeem 100,000 shares of GLD at the offices of WGTS? I bet they would not answer the door.

CLH is a basher, don't pay attention to him. Just look at his track record:

On May 28 11:32 AM he writes: "...Gold to me is going down. Dollar is going up. " seekingalpha.com/artic...

And what did actually happen? Gold up from $650, dollar down from 80.

On Jun 05 05:43 AM he writes: "This is last years news. Dollar going up and gold going down now." seekingalpha.com/artic...

And what did actually happen? Gold up from $650, dollar down from 80.

remigh, GLD can trade at a premium or discount to net-asset-value (NAV). Additionally, a trader could possibly naked-short GLD.

On SLV's 10-for-1 Split: It's All About Liquidity
I would expect SLV redemption to actually go up if the silver futures price represented by the symbol "SLV" is well below the physical silver price.
Since this has not (yet) happened, I wonder if the trust actually holds and real silver. Perhaps it will turn out a bogus investment and it will be "ENRON" all over again.
