    Comment on GDX:

    the sale of 7500 calls and purchase of 7500 puts combined is called a collar. It benefits the owner of GDX shares.

    As an additional note, 9,000 calls at the September 39 strike price were BOUGHT, thus INCREASING the open interest to 9,928.
