  • Trading Apple Using My Daily Options Strategy: Spotting The Lows [View instapost]
I vaguely remember that Kevin commented not to use a stop loss order. I'm still working at my regular job so I haven't been able to try this strategy with real money (my cousin has though). However, tabbing back and forth between my virtual account, it does have a high probability of success from what I have seen. There are some times where the indicators signal buy call or put and the price continues in the direction instead of reversing. This happens since stock market is a fickle thing. Risk tolerance wise I would be expecting max loss limit I would take would be around .5-2% of investment. Profit % depends on how expensive the contracts are and how many you buy however it usually is higher then 2% of investment. The option prices sometimes dip a little bit more if you bought a little early that a stop loss might exit the position early. In addition, many times from the indicators, stock recovers after moving deeper into "oversold/overbought" after indicators are signaling buying of put/call. Basically a judgment call on the investors part I think. Risk management and research should be done also on users part. I wouldn't say this strategy is a 100% guaranteed to work without fail, but the probability of success is high enough for me to use when I'm done with my day job which will be in November.

I enjoy reading both Kim's and Kevin's articles. There are valid points on both sides. Remember that due diligence and risk tolerance is key. Everybody needs to be responsible for their own actions and not blame anybody else. In the end, win or lose, it is on you guys if you click trade.

Kevin advocates entering and exiting same day. You should not be holding till next day with this strategy. Read his other articles previous to this one.

Not a lot of volume on Thursdays since the weeklys are new. I usually wait that long for a low price I have that I set my eyes on.

Thanks for the more in depth analysis. I have been using RIC weeklies on VXX since you posted the article about GLD. Results have been quite nice.

Hi Sword2. I was looking at that trade too. The NBBO is around .57 - .72. The Limit/Debit should be around that .64 you are indicating. Not sure where that .33 is coming from.

    Hi Kevin,
I did GLD, VXX, TLT and GOOG RIC last thursday. Profit was small but enough to overcome the commission. GOOG def hit big. Had to sell GLD breakeven though. Holding onto it longer to try to get some profit didn't seem likely. Definitely adding this strategy from now on.

    Hi Kevin,

A lot of detail in the articles. I would like to try the daily option strategy. I have my screens setup. I was wondering when all 5 indicators hit, do you use weekly or monthly options and which strike price do you buy at? Thanks.

  • A Google Trade To Hold Through Earnings [View article]
    Hi Kevin,

I have read and enjoyed all your articles. Do you know the exact date that Google will be reporting earnings in January? I have not found any information on the tentative earnings date on their Google investor relations site. I am a little hesitant to place this trade until the earnings date is released.
