  • BofA's $8.5B mortgage settlement approved [View news story]
I don't know if wow 72's numbers are correct but I have been long this stock for years. A couple of questions though. Why has no one,Angelo, gone to jail and where was the government going to get any money if Bac did not make this deal. Let's ask Geitner.

  • U.S. derides Countrywide's "Hustle" program, wants $864M from Bank of America [View news story]
The federal govt. should never be trusted to do the right thing and under Obama it would be a great model for Capone, Luciano, and Lansky to follow. Why do they let Dodd, Frank, Fannie, Freddie, Angello, Johnson, Raines, Pelosi ect. skate. Bac just gave a veteran keys to a house. Why can't programs like that be set up. No lawyers no Holder and a benefit to the most deserving group in America. Have a great Veterans Day from a VfW member.

  • Bank of America (BAC) shareholders better familiarize themselves with Article 77, writes Mark Palmer, as it's possible the $8.5B the bank has reserved to handle claims against Countrywide MBS will be woefully small. At issue is an Article 77 proceeding set to begin May 30 at which a judge could toss the $8.5B settlement. The number might then reach as high as $60.5B, writes Palmer - about 24% of the bank's book value. [View news story]
Palmer is short. The settlement should stand if BAC had not bought Countrywide the taxpayers would be footing the bill. Oh ya where is Angelo and his friends..Chris Dodd ect.
