  • Tesla's Deflationary Creative Destruction Has Not Even Begun [View article]
8/10 top selling cars are MSRP under 20k. And that number hasn't changed much since the early 90's when I had a short stint selling GM cars in the 12-15k range.

I can't see how people en masse are going to be able to afford cars that "might be" ... "just" under 40k ???

  • Putin addresses lawmakers, annexes Crimea [View news story]
I think y'all are assuming the game is over when we're still in the first inning.

Putin gets Crimea, but what happens if the Euros re-think their nuclear power strategy. 10 years from now who does Russia sell NatGas to ? They won't have any economy to speak of.

Also if I'm Putin - I don't know why I'd alienate NATO when China is moving in to Russia already.

  • The Big Question For The Stock Market: When Is This All Going To Change? [View article]
The DOTCOM bubble didn't pop until the Fed raised rates 5? times... one could say rates are being increased as Treasuries have risen...

But when is the tipping point ?

A swift move up in Treasuries is my guess of at least half to three quarters of a percent.

Japan is broke and China's banking system is one big ponzi scheme IMO. None of this will end well. Will it be 2015 or 2015 or 2016 before the market pops?

I was listening to a fund manager on CNBC and he said the market is overvalued, but 23/24 of his stocks are undervalued.

Classic Wall Street thinking: It's just everyone else's stocks that are overvalued.

  • Annaly Capital: Falling Knife Or Solid Turnaround? [View article]
Someone explain why authors use Yahoo charts which don't count dividends ? And then those authors say stock XYZ is down - look at chart ! DOH WRONG ! (I'll give you a hint - NLY is about breakeven going back to middle of last July.)

Oh and if you're going to talk market cap which is largely irrelevant ... are you taking into account buybacks ??? (answer is no - again DOH!)

If you really meant to say NLY is down 33% in the past 2 years ... I'll give you another hint - you're only off by ~17%...

  • Natural Gas Prices At A BOIL, Market-Makers' Rest Of Year Outlook [View article]
@DVL - UNG options have better liquidity. It's not just getting in, but getting out when dealing with illiquid options.

It's not going to be cold in May, so I'd say BOIL hits 35 before 60.

DGAZ is another way to play because you can trade it early hours when they jam up /NG. Bought a ton in early trading under 3$ the other day.

@ author - As to validity of article... a 50m$ market cap ETF is your predictor of /NG ? Maybe you should use a real ETF, or NatGas futures.

@SA please please please give us ignore author feature

  • High-Yield Allocation And Hedging Strategies For Preferred Stock ETFs [View article]
Many of the prefds in PFF (& ones held by ETFs) were way over Par in the early part of 2013. I don't think you'll find that to be the case now.

I prefer to pick and choose my own prefds.

Try adding in dividends on those last 12 months returns ???

I can't even take an article seriously when an author uses Yahoo for charting.
