  • Liberty Media Is Trading At A Meaningful Double-Digit Discount To Its NAV [View article]
    Thanks for the article SIDDHART!

In early July I bought 100 shares of LMCA. This was right before the deadline to take part in a portion of this spin-off. LMCA's pps nearly was cut in half and I was given 200 shares of LMCK. I believe this to be a holding stock? When the spin-off occurs in a few weeks, for every 4 shares of LMCA (100) and LMCK (200) = 75 shares of the new broadband company. I will ALSO STILL have my 100 shares LMCA and 200 shares LMCK!

  • Lawsuit alleges John Malone mistreated Sirius XM Radio shareholders [View news story]
I felt a bit helpless when Siri investors were not given a chance to vote for Malone getting control -- since he was not acquiring the company but just getting control of the board -- how did Siri investors get manipulated by Malone? I am grateful Malone had interest in Siri and has reached his goals without doing a hostile takeover. Maybe he has done some sort of manipulation to get the price where he wanted. But look at the pps today. If this is a class action lawsuit, I wish I could be counted out.

  • Sirius XM: Rocking $3.73 In A Bull Market [View article]
Stephen posted: Assuming you time it well
I sell high (just a bit of position) and set a limit order to buy with the proceeds from the sell. I am a volunteer at the local senior center; I am not a trader. However I occasionally stop what I am doing to check out current prices on my iPodTouch (using the center's wifi). It is as easy as that!

  • Apple: Stop The Dividend [View article]
Apple's dividend is what help convince me buy 50 shares @399.99. So I want the dividend to stay. I am in my mid 50-s. I like investing in great companies and I also like dividends. I can see how younger investors would feel otherwise.

  • Sirius XM: Is There Value In 'I Told You So'? [View article]
Thanks Steve for the tip -- buying below the 50-day moving average. I am not that technical so I just put 'limit' buy orders and am happy when then fill. There also is a limit sell order -- which will be a LT cap gain.
I like what you say about not letting your emotions control your investing style. This is why having buy/sell limit orders are so beneficial to the novice retail investor. I share your optimism especially since Liberty 'took control'!

  • 5 Reasons Apple Should Just Buy Sirius Already [View article]
    Quoth the Raven,
If Apple did seek to buy Sirius, could the Siri board (controlled by Liberty Media) prevent this or would the shareholders have a say in it. As a Siri shareholder and devout iMac, iPad, iPod-Touch user I think it would be great if Apple took over. I just don't think Malone would give up his cash-cow.

  • Liberty Media Is Sirius About Time Warner [View article]
How about when (if) the RMT occurs, Liberty (controlling the board of both SIRI and TWC) combines these 2 companies to form anew? This would sure be good for Liberty shareholders. And good for the pps of the new company. Just thinking!
