  • Breaking The PR Mold For Apple Watch  [View article]
I like your article and agree that Apple is playing a highly targeted, long game in the process of making tech more appreciated and widely admired and sought-after. It was not so long ago that numerous commenters were grumbling about how Apple was no longer producing the "wow" products. I suspect that there are many more substantial projects underway that will continue Apple's working effectively to reach high-end customers without turning its back on mainstream clients.

  • Berkshire mobile homes unit accused of predatory tactics  [View news story]

Thanks for posting the Clayton statement. Fair conclusions can be drawn after specific allegations are made, contested, investigated, and both sides have been heard. We've had recent jumping to conclusions in journalism with a prime example being the now-retracted Rolling Stone Magazine article about date rape at the University of Virginia. Let's let the inquiry proceed and hope that all the facts come out.

Because the NYT is widely considered the best-written newspaper in the world, I'll guess that your comment indicates that you disagree with the NYT's editorial positions or cannot forgive the paper's not having a comics section.

Thanks for the article. I am long INCO and INXX, and chose SMIN over SCIN. I'd be interested to hear your reasons for preferring SCIN.

  • Biotech Weekly: The XBI-IBB Performance Gap YTD And A Benchmarking Discussion  [View article]
I like your approach and the quality of your illustrations and argument. In the breadth of investment options in health/biotech/genome/... stocks, it is beyond my science knowledge and ability to do the voluminous reading to keep up with individual stocks in assessing which have and can maintain competitive advantages. Focusing, instead, on etfs seems more rewarding financially and involves less trading while better enabling me to sleep soundly. I chose XBI over IBB for its greater small-cap coverage. By investing, as well, in FBT, PBE, RYH, VHT, XHS, XLV, and XPH, I accept some overlap to gain reasonably comprehensive coverage of a field that no single etf offers.

  • Bank Of Nova Scotia Is A Safer Bet Than The Market Is Representing  [View article]
Canada's economy faces challenges, but I believe that prices for its good bank stocks fell predominantly because of unfounded investor fears. Stocks in certain countries and regions fall rapidly out of fashion and can come back into popularity just as fast. From time to time, we are advised to avoid investing in China, Russia, and emerging markets, and months later, analysts and business journalists fault investors for inadequately diversifying their portfolios to include these markets. Betting on Canada for the long term appeals to me, and I believe that Canada's bank stocks will regain and eventually exceed their former highs. I appreciate your thoughtful article. Long BMO, BNS, CM, NTIOF, RY, TD.

  • Is India The Next China?  [View article]
Thank you for an impressively clear, perceptive, and appropriately qualified perspective of growth and hope for India's important economy. I also chose to invest in INCO as well as in INXX (infrastructure) and in SMIN (small-cap) -- areas I think will be keys to India's sustainable growth.

  • Berkshire Hathaway: High-Growth Stock?  [View article]
Thanks for a very good and perceptive article. In the eventual market correction, Buffett will be benefitting from his substantial cash holdings, huge insurance float, long-term view, and readiness to act while others hang back in fear in making Berkshire Hathaway substantially stronger with some great acquisitions.
