Mr. Jack Edward Wheeler, Jr. brings a well distinguished background to the Oklahoma City Merrill Lynch complex. For several years, Mr. Wheeler has served both as an Attorney and a Financial Advisor in the banking industry. However, he does not provide legal or tax advice in his services at Merrill Lynch.
His areas of expertise are working with high net worth estates, restricted stock options, alternative investments, market linked investments, private money managers, hedge funds, venture capital, private equity and institutional money management. Mr. Wheeler’s business experience also includes working with business owners to sell their companies and raise capital.
Additionally, Jack has extensive
experience assisting the Firm’s high net worth clients primarily business owners, retirees, individual retirement plans, and company retirement plans such as 401(k)s, IRAs and SEPs with financial and investment strategies, wealth transfer and preservation, business services, retirement strategies and solutions, securities lending, residential lending, commercial lending, private aircraft financing and private banking.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Wheeler spent five years with Morgan Stanley. He first served as a Financial Advisor, then a Restricted Securities Expert and subsequently as the only Wealth Advisor for the Morgan Stanley Global Wealth Management Group in Oklahoma. In June 2009, Mr. Wheeler moved to Merrill Lynch in order to offer a higher level services to his clients.
Since 2006 Jack has been an arbitrator with the New York Stock Exchange and The National Association of Securities Dealers, both now known as The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
His well rounded education began with a B.A. in Communications immediately followed with an M.B.A from the University of Central Oklahoman and ultimately a Juris Doctorate from the Tulsa College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Wheeler studied abroad and spent 17 months in Europe working with complex international business/securities legal issues in the European Union for organizations such as British Telecom and the World Trade Organization. He attended classes at Christ College Oxford, England; University of London, England; Institut Universitaire de Hautes Études Internationals Geneva, Switzerland; Irish International Institute Lueven, Belgium; University College Dublin, Ireland; Université du Luxembourg, Luxembourg and the Université Panthéon-Assas Paris, France.
In his spare time, Jack has worked with local charities like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Feed the Children, The Food Bank, Boy Scouts of America, Oklahoma Museum of Art, The Oklahoman Historical Society and many others. Additionally, Jack enjoys attending church, reading, traveling, swimming, exotic cars and most importantly spending time with his family.
