  • Will Nokia Recover Or Be Bought?  [View article]
I bought initially because I held NOK way back when it was 40 ps. Sold without loss back then. I love beat up stocks that had a STORIED past. So I started buying NOK and found it had a nice dividend.

I really planned to hold onto it for the long haul as silly as that may sound. But now I might cash out and return to a position on S or something else on NASDAQ.

For now I am sitting pretty with my NOK shares. I put in an alert for 6.00 and will go from there. However, with a salary raise and the profits I took off the table this year, I cannot afford to sell NOK before Jan first.

damn right I did. Not only that but it is my biggest stake at 1K shares. Advice: what if it shoots up soon? Should I sell and get in later? Any thoughts

No, because I am writing conversationally, casually. You are writing a "technical article" and I used to edit them.

  • The End Of An Era For Nokia, The Beginning Of An Era For Microsoft  [View article]
If the price of the Lumia 521 drops to say $99 a piece, it will be a no brainer for others to buy. I bought their low-end line on purpose and so glad I did. If Apple unveils a new phone then a new Nokia price with the same functions will be hard to beat.

  • Ford F-Series Truck Sales Highest Since 2006  [View article]
Damn I'm good. I have picked some real winners in my new portfolio of holdings: Ford, BAC, and NOK to name a few. I had F when it was dirt cheap then sold it. But when I saw its continual climb and its dividend and the fact that I've bought my second Ford, it was a no brainer.

okay thank you. I was hoping for that or for the stock to become MSFT. Only if they bought NOK wholecloth i.e., bankruptcy or takeover would the shares go away.

I don't want to sell them. What about the dividends? Does anybody have a guess about that? Will they continue as ever? NOK is my biggest hold. I just brought it up to an even 1K shares, last batch bought at 3.93. I thought oh, it don't look good but I like the dividends so I continued to add to my positions.

  • Nokia: Up 40%, Another 35% More To Come To Shareholders  [View article]
Don't worry. Elop is asleep at the helm. When the stock continues to rise Microsoft will have to come off more money. If not, well, we revolt. Will NOK symbol be delisted? Or will MFST sell the stocks for us?

If my stock is priced at 6.66$ why would I take 3.33$. Hell no. Elop is lurching to retirement.

That has been par for the course if you have been paying attention. The stock bought out rises and the buyer's stock fall. I've been on the bought out end 3 times in one year.

Wow, I picked three stocks, without insider knowledge, that ended up in mergers and stock prices climbed. What will happen this time? Anybody got a guess. With S the stock was sold and the money dumped into my scottrade account where I will get dinged for taxes. I was not expecting that.

Will I get Microsoft stock instead? I hope so, any votes?

  • It's Time To Reconsider Your Portfolio Strategy  [View article]
Yes well researched. I am changing my strategies and keeping cash on the table and in the bank. I keep way more cash than stock exposure. Damn this market this year has been great for me. Out to make 500$ in interest to counter the lack of from savings and ended up with nearly 15K minted from a mere 10K. Thank you wall street.

  • Commoditization Of Smartphones: Good Or Bad For Nokia?  [View article]
I thought Nokia target for latest phones was not the US middle class but emerging markets? So I don't think a dumb salesman would be the best person to ask. I asked questions about my Nokia 521 and they barely knew it was in stock. Could not help me set up and I knew more about what was in the store than they did. Had to ask my techie pro daughter in law what I did wrong because my apps would not load. She told me to reset the phone, it worked, and no one at Tmobile had a clue.
I would put little stock in floor salespeople. I mean like NONE.

I bought the phone and knew I was the exception but it has gotten good reviews from iPhone diehards.

  • Nokia Siemens (NOK +0.8%) has offered the lowest bid in a China Mobile tender for 207K 4G TD-LTE base stations, undercutting local vendors Huawei and ZTE, according to a Chinese media report. China Mobile has established a $6.75B 4G capex budget for 2013, as it tries to rapidly build out its network ahead of the government's issuing of commercial licenses (expected at year's end); rival carriers are also ramping their 4G spend. The report comes ahead of Nokia's Q2 results, due tomorrow morning. Tero Kuittinen declares the quarter a "moment of truth" for Nokia, given concerns about slumping feature phone sales in emerging markets, and questions about Lumia volumes/ASPs in light of strong sales of the low-cost 520.  [View news story]
Look if nothing else somebody with deep pockets will swoop down and buy up Nokia. Until then I sit tight on my booty.
