  • Sizing up American Airlines Group [View news story]
I want to see how my current stock in AMRQ translate when the deal is done. I plan to hold what I have and buy more. I bought in at .87 and have nothing to lose by holding it. Besides I think the upside of AAL will be in the 30-40 pps range within, say 12 months.

thanks...that's funny. For the past 6 months while every time I took profits and got a check from scottrade in the mail--my portfolio would instantly fill in what I had withdrawn and more to boot! I call it the horn of plenty.

@rwm: I've been thinking about it. And the only reason I will consider it as opposed to my valuable political insights shared on blog articles...is that you pay your authors. I will never again give away my articles for free. Why? Because it costs me to write them in time and other things.

I've read enough books and been in the market since 2007, and my son is also prescient when it comes to stocks, to present as credible.

How did you know? Read what I said carefully: the stocks I've found to be in the dollar range have all gone on to 400% gains. And others that were beaten down like Netflix. I saw it seesaw, but kept buying at 85 pps, then it tanked to 25 pps and I said hell, I'll just buy more.

But my never wrongs have been on the dollar-range stocks.

I had that much stashed and I was losing money by not investing in stocks. Now that has tripled, so I have the best of both worlds.

But my stock pick was not a gamble. Timing is everything and he did not strike when the iron was hot so I told him to unplug. Besides I discovered he had no tech savvy whatsoever. So I dumped him as a protege and kept the stock. My picks when I pick them have NEVER been wrong! Especially my dollar picks...starting with NOK. So talk what you know buddy.

Now I remember I bought HIMX on the news that it would be a supplier to Google glass. So, Google could buy it if it wants to we know that, but in the meantime it will have one hell of a run up. Go HIMX!

I wish I had read this back in August. But no matter I found HIMX and have been investing there for the past few weeks. Every time I sell a non rising dog I use the proceeds to buy HIMX and have not looked back. Thanks for the article and the advice.

If Google gets in the game here what impact will that have on percent rise, if any?

Get your thinking in gear, i.e., think positive instead of all the what ifs...have assets in all the right safe places and keep your negative vibes to yourself!

Here's another tidbit to bite on: I had a potential investor set up to make quick cash for their emergency fund or whatever. I took my own advice and bought into SMED at like 2.50 and it has doubled in less than a month. I thought if he had a spare 2K I could show him how to double it in short order. He was a faker and full of talk. So I doubled my own money thus far. That tip came from SA. But a quick and dirty trade will boost your fund if you know how to play.

I have used my emergency cash not for emergencies per se but to remodel my bathroom and kitchen and now paint the house. Not in the same year naturally. I build up my emergency fund and then when I don't need it for that I use it to build equity in my house, or buy a new car or invest part in the stock market and still keep some cash, well, cash.
