  • Commoditization Of Smartphones: Good Or Bad For Nokia? [View article]
I added to my shares of Nokia stock after buying the new Nokia 521 smartphone. It was inexpensive and yes it does everything the iPhone does. It was 149$. I also have an iPod so I have the best of both worlds for less than the price of one iPhone 5 and/or subsequent contracts. I am contract free on tmobile. And love my new Nokia smartphone.

  • Why Himax Technologies Is Still Not Worth Buying [View article]
and least he forget that HIMX is in with GOOG and they can buy anything, any time. Betting on HIMX now and will continue to add to my position. It's a buy in my book.

The price run up will continue I foresee.

I saw a warning about those with gold paper instead of gold proper. I buy gold jewelry that way if it incurs a loss I still have something. And you can always get cash money if you need to sell it. Or better yet you can have your kids inherit it or will it to a charity.

  • Apple (AAPL) is reportedly planning to roll out a smaller, cheaper iPad by the end of the year, with a screen that's 7-8 inches diagonally vs. the current 9.7 inch version. Apparently Apple's at least a little bit worried about the Nexus 7 (GOOG) and Surface (MSFT).  [View news story]
there is no need for that. apple needs to tout the fact that the latest ipod touch is everything that the ipad is and more bc it is more portable.

i just bought my first ipod touch. how come nobody told me it was a frakin ipad? i luv it more than anything electronic i own including the ipad!

i see why they are stomping the comp bc the ipod is a clone of the iphone and a mini of the ipad.. Who knew? i sure did not until i
bought one. and for 199 you cannot beat it.

note i was gonna buy the kindle perish the thought

  • The New Nokia Has At Least A 20% Upside Potential [View article]
I was browsing comments on another stock site and many people were trashing the fact that Nokia has gone with "HERE" for its maps instead of nokia maps. Call it what you may I got lost this am on my way to the dreaded north side of town, unfamiliar to me, and had to pull out my Nokia phone and turn on Here drive.

Quelle surprise! I put in destination address, as it already had my current loc in the car, and without toggling back and forth it was linked to the web search as I could not find my printed directions. Voila Here started talking to me and showed me a clear map of where I was and that I was not as lost as I thought.

Even though I buy and tout technology I am really reticent when it comes to using the garmin-like stuff. But I was stuck and cusing mad and Here came to my rescue and took me to my conference on time.

Go nokia HERE--I know they got that one from me. I should have trademarked it before everybody started using it.

  • Buying Nokia Below $3 Is Like Buying Ford Below $2 [View article]
I like your logic. Good article. I too urged people to buy F when it was rock bottom. I also urged folks to buy into my gentrifying neighborhood where they would have seen a 50% to 100% increase in the value and selling price despite the housing market meltdown, but I had no takers. Now, I see people cruising around looking for bargains but they are just about all gone. They are kicking themselves for not buying in the city near downtown and hospital district.

As for Ford: I bought some and sold and got more when it was low. Then it did a turnaround. I am a loyal ford owner and when people in my area saw and stared at my new ford focus hatchback that looks just like a damn Acura I have seen the focus crop up everywhere.

It's a good car for middle class people. It ain't cheap but it looks like a car that costs twice as much and the quality is built in. I don't have any positions in F right now. Just wished I had bought more back then.

Now, I am into Nokia and will continue adding to the stock. For me it is a buy and hold thing. My next phone will be a Nokia even if I have to wait for it.

  • Meeting In The Middle Market: The Symbiotic Future Of Tesla And Car Charging Group [View article]
My two cents: the local Kroger's has installed an EV charging station. Garages are not as important as outdoor plugs. I have a garage I made into a studio. It is electrified but I don't put my car in it. However I do have outlets on the outside of the house and I can use one of those just fine if and when I get a Tesla down-the-line model. I am bullish on Tesla...take note.
