How many shares do they have left to sell?

I also like HIHO, as a value play with growth potential. There are some striking similarities with BNSO as well, including being housed in Hong Kong, trading at deep discounts to cash and book value, and running a lean operation that will ultimately lead to EPS growth.

  • Eight Wind Energy Related Stocks [View article]
A recent entrant into the Wind sector is AETI (American Electric Tech). Here's the PR describing their electrical efficiency angle: www.aeti.com/news/news...

    Here's a link describing AETI's power-related wind products: www.aeti.com/market/wi...

What I like about AETI is that their power efficiency niche could be one that is applicable to most all producers of wind towers. Add in the fact that AETI is already profitable with their base electrical business, and their oil/gas/China growth angle. With only ~7.5M shares outstanding, it wouldn't take much revenue/gross margin to boost EPS substantially. Mkt cap ~$50M

  • Bullish on Chinese Microcaps [View article]
Amen opica. And EID, why would we want one more analyst in the already-crowded listed ranks? Little value-added there. Folks that provide good ideas in the .OB and sometimes .PK markets are serving a much needed niche.

  • Bullish on Chinese Microcaps [View article]
Wow, you commenters sure find it easier to bash than to go out on a limb on a public forum and post some ideas. The amount of DD presented here is perfect for tickling our brains to see if further DD is warranted. No need for a 10-page research summary for a message board.

In addition to the stocks mentioned by the author, all of which I'm familiar with, I would also add a few more to the mix: CYXI.OB and CHBU.OB.

Of course these also have the "Chinese Fraud Discount", but are worth a look for speculators.

  • China's Agriculture Sector Is Ripe for Investment [View article]
GRO may be dead money for awhile, even though I like their business and overall focus.
CNOA.OB is interesting and a direct player in rice...a good place to be
CYXI.OB is another Chinese firm involved with rice, and garners quite a bit of their revenues from diabetic-friendly rice products. Fundamentals are excellent with CYXI.
I'll put one out there that nobody knows about...CHBU.OB. Trading near cash despite nice EPS, CHBU is on the fertilizer side of Chinese agriculture...worth a peek.

  • The Long Case for General Steel Holdings  [View article]
Nice article and analysis on GSI. I would append to the article by noting that there are several more interesting Chinese steel companies that trade on US exchanges, albeit the OTCBB. These are SUOT.OB, PUDC.OB, and TNRO.OB. Of these three, SUOT seems to be the most deeply discounted based on EPS and growth rate.

  • Hot China Stocks: A Bubble to Avoid [View article]
A few comments on this short-sighted and poorly-researched article. First, the stocks listed have China operations, but are not necessarily ADRs/ADSs. Second, I trade these stocks regularly, and other than FEED, rarely see a spread more than a dime, let alone fifty cents. Third, the five stocks mentioned by the author are NOT created equally. Each needs to be analyzed separately. Fourth, one of the MANY attractive features of these stocks is the superiority of the growth rate compared to American stocks in the same or similar sectors. PE's "for a particular space" is too generic; such analysis needs to take into consideration growth rate, not just what sector a company is in. In fact, when considering the macro case for companies doing business in China, I would argue the point that DESPITE the recent runs on these stocks, only now are they starting to catch up to where they should be valued based on their powerful fundamentals. One caveat: It's probably a better approach to TRADE the US-listed China sector than to fall in love. I like the strategy of getting in them early (e.g. nobody has picked up on HQS yet), let them double, sell half, and let the rest ride for free.

  • Shengda Tech: A Cheap Chinese Smallcap  [View article]
Shengda didn't present at Roth...any comments as to why? Also, I noticed that JLF is dumping shares of CXTI like crazy, yet not seeing such filings for SDTH...but yet we have a large short position. Wonder what's going on there.
