      Apple's iPhone Mistakes
Opinions are like ---holes! And this one smells just as bad. This is one of the downsides of the internet. Someone who knows nothing can offer an opinion and the fact that it is offered provides credibility. I am sure this writer's previous bent was promoting the existence of flying saucers. The advent of camera phones has pretty much done away with the UFO. I am sure the credibility of this blogger will evaporate as soon as all realize he/she is uninformed and unemployed.

Apple's iPhone 2.0 'Bigger than the Personal Computer'
Cost and a lack of program development have hurt Apples computer business. If the platform were available in a competitive marketplace I believe Apple would own the software OS business. With regard to the iPhone, it is moving Apples development expertise into a new paradigm. Like the internet, Microsoft has ignored the mobile market. Apple has brought us an elegant operating system that is currently growing and has very significant share. By providing a development kit Apple is enticing writers to apply their trade for the mobile market. As the iPhone platform expands it should dominate the mobile market like windows dominates the desk top. As windows has made little impact in the mobile community (you have to operate it with a stylus - which hand are you using to drive) due to some boneheads idea of mobile being sitting in Starbucks.

The cost of learning is a major factor for MIS departments. Might the iPhone finally make the point that a properly engineered machine with good software can be so easy to operate that the cost of learning is dramatically reduced and at the same time productivity is increased. It's amazing how much more you can do with equipment that doesn't require a 200 page manual to operate it properly. Imagine all of the Palm, Berry and Ipaq owners using all the functional capabilities of their machines. Why doesn't Apple write
for them. I would gladly pay for a decent operating system for my iPaq 6515. I guess all the "other guys" will learn when 70% of the business migrates to iPhone. The microsoft era may be coming to an end!
