  • Zacks' Bear Of The Day: Uni-Pixel [View article]
We don't know that there is a problem with the process. We can't know until the test equipment is in.

That was a hypothetical scenario describing why they wanted an automated tester. You're article was at least a little scary before you pulled a number out of his hypothetical.

Reed Killion has never said Uniboss yields were 30%. Never.

I was impressed when he said possibly Q1 2014 for new customers. And as he said, once they are fully qualified with Dell, they will pretty much be qualified with everything (ISO standards). So, if they really are the cheapest, the orders will flow in.

Also, test completion with a PO possibly in the same PR? Wow going to be a painful day for shorts.

Thanks Jgassel. Yes, that was largely my understanding as well. RXR seems to be claiming cheap silver mesh as a solved problem. If that was the case, none of the partners would be interested in UNXL.

So if that's the case why would Atmel bother with Xsense? Why would Synaptics sit there and praise UNXL when they can get it by the mile from China? Why would an OEM be giving payments for a problem that has already been solved? Why would an Ecosystem partner back a company with a failed process that is already available elsewhere?

Furthermore Unipixel has stated that silver can be used with the process. The simpliciy is probably why Kodak will be moving toward a silver-based Uniboss.

Something doesn't add up with your claims about silver mesh being available so easily.

TI did not terminate any relationship. They left the touchscreen controller market. Synaptics is both a dominant player in the controller market and one which does not have the option to bow out. Qualification with Uniboss gives them a large advantage when OEMs are selecting components to lower the cost of the finished touch sensor. ITO is not the future.

Awful nitpicky. Assuming UNXL won't lend staff to augment or train Kodak staff is quite presumptuous. It's also presumptuous to assume Kodak does not have people with plating expertise just because they haven't performed it before.

You continue to assert that Unipixel has a low-yield, high cost process. This is incorrect. They have a high-yield, low cost process. That is the entire investment thesis. If the alternatives were as low cost, Synaptics would not be enthusiastically praising UNXL work to lower costs.

Just because you say something, doesn't make it true.

Better be careful, when they succeed ol' Reed might have a hankerin' to bring you to court for what you've done. Lord knows he'll have the money to make you miserable.

There is no public record of a 5 month lead time. I was going to give you credit for a strong short and distort effort but now you're showing yourself to simply be dishonest. Sad to see a Mensa guy working for evil.

So you're stating that testing has failed and has not resumed and we have yet to get a PR on this material event? I'm not saying there can't be a delay but if this was the case we would have had a PR.

As I understood it they sent an initial batch and then the OEM requested a different pattern which was sent. Testing is either still underway or has completed successfully. They stated they would not PR successful test results as it is par for the course but would PR a failure as that's a material change in trajectory.

Why do you say low yield? They've stated numerous times they have a 70% yield and expect it to rise. This was before they had Kodak to perfect the process for them.
