  • My Stock Watch List For April 2015 [View article]
Wow. Our watch lists are remarkably similar. Others on my list include BAX, BBL, BEN, CAT, DEO, DOV, HP, GWW, and MMP. If HSY pulls back into the lower $90s I would start dipping my toe in as well.

  • Hershey: Outstanding Company, Rich Valuation [View article]
If HSY drops to $61.80 I'll take out all the equity in my home and back the monster truck up. I think low $80s would be worth making a sizeable investment, but I doubt we will see that any time soon.

  • Why Low Beta Stocks Are Like Bonds For Dividend Growth Investors [View article]
If you don't already follow Ploutos, he has some pretty neat insights into the use of beta and low volatility in investing.

In the article above he attributes Buffett's success with the use of leverage in low volatility investments. Interesting read, like most of his stuff.

Can you expand on what you are seeing with Dominion? What is your justification for pulling the trigger on D over every other stock out there? I recently bought some O and SO on a pullback, and I feel I got in the game waaaay to early with interest rate concerns on the horizons. I am getting creamed. What else is new, though? Also, any thoughts on IBM?

  • Air Products And Chemicals: This Hedge Fund Manager's Best Deal Yet [View article]
Let's not get carried away here. In 2003 their NI was 397M, and in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2009 their NI was between 600-723M. Incurring an additional 600M expense would be extremely risky given the cyclical nature of their business. According to M* their TTM net income is 996M, which is quite different than 2012's figure of 1268M that you are using. I like what you are getting at here, but it's a little extreme.
APD has been rewarding shareholders with rising dividends for over 30 years. I also like their business model, selling people gas. lol
    That's why I am long.
