A 25% IMPROVEMENT IN LESS THAN 30DAYS...

...lots of other STOCKS ...WISH THEY COULD SAY THE SAME...

...now that we've hit 120's ...130's is JUST AROUND THE CORNER...maybe TODAY...

as long as we keep "tickin' UP!" it'll get there...

Ocnf, as well as Drys are following the "contract rate" scheme. This insures "steadier potential revenue" in times of economic uncertainty.

it, for the most part guarantees revenues REGARDLESS OF A significant downturn in the BDI.

1. this is a good scheme in case the economy turns sour, and was a good move for the last two years or so.

2. Now that the BDI is rocketing AND SHOWS NO INDICATION of "once again weakening (like new lows in Dec08)...well, that means:

a. as Ocnf renews contracts... THEY WILL BE AT HIGHER RATES (based on the new higher BDI rates), etc.

b. as Ocnf ACQUIRES MORE SHIPS (used ships, for better value) THESE WILL EITHER BE CONTRACTED AT HIGHER RATES or may float with BDI day-rates.

c. Ocnf DOES NOT HAVE "all ships" under contract for 2010 and beyond... which means these ships will GARNER HIGHER CONTRACT/FLOAT RATES.

ALL IN ALL: the BDI ROCKETING... has plenty of potential GOOD IMPACT MEANING for the future fortunes and prosperity/stability of Ocnf going forward...

that's about it...

so, BDI rocketing! GREAT FOR THE DRY-BULK SECTOR AND GREAT FOR OCNF!

essentially it's a bit of a disapointment - at least "accounting wise," that Ocnf took another write-down of asset values. But, I'm not gonna criticize them for that - especially AT THIS TIME AND IN THIS ECONOMIC CLIMATE. You can MAKE THE STOCK AND BALANCE SHEET LOOK GOOD FOR THE INVESTORS... or you can DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO GROW THE COMPANY and insure it's survival.

the good news:

1. another writedown... after-all, IT HAD TO BE CLEARED OFF THE BOOKS EVENTUALLY... that's accounting, etc.

2. .11 cents positive earnings, without discounting for the writedown, IS CLEARLY AN IMPROVEMENT OVER THE 2ND QTR... when THERE STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOSS EVEN WITHOUT THE WRITE-DOWN.

Ocnf freight is clearly ON THE RECOVERY PATH.

3. Consider also... that that .11 would be much GREATER PER SHARE WITHOUT THE DILUTION... based on last years share count...

yeah, everyone cries about the dilution... BUT OCNF DID THIS TO "BUY MORE SHIPS AND GROW THE COMPANY."

WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT... a TEMP FEEL GOOD FOR SHAREHOLDERS ...OR REALITY to survive and grow in a "difficult, BUT RECOVERING ECONOMY...

I like the LATTER... and it looks LIKE WE'RE "OVER THE HUMP" in going back to a RECOVERY.

a. getting "inevitable" write-downs OFF THE BOOKS...

b. a stance WITH POTENTIAL SHARE ISSUE to prevent a "hostile takeover."

c. BDI going up... so contract rates WILL INCREASE as old ones expire... plus more "used ship acquisitions" will be at higher rates DRIVEN BY THE GREATLY INCREASING BDI...

ALL IN ALL... positive steps by Ocnf mgmt IN DEALING WITH A "NEGATIVE WORLD ECONOMY..."

BOTTOM LINE: WE'RE ON THE "COMEBACK TRAIL."

and I'm sure with continued RECOVERY IN WORLD ECONOMY ...the stock will LOOK LIKE A REAL BARGAIN at these price levels...

I expect WE'LL SUDDENLY BECOME "the HOT SECTOR AND STOCK" as the investors standing on the sidelines BOTTOM-FISH...as they jump on the bandwagon of the WORLDWIDE RECOVERY IS REAL!

most biz today USES SUBCONTRACTORS... because it's more cost-effective...

more flexible, don't have to pay benefits, etc., so Ocnf is probably doing this to SAVE MONEY... they can always renegotiate or terminate contracts, and don't have to worry about labor problems (strikes, slow-downs... that's likely part of their contract agreement with Cardiff... work slowdown and they can probably break contract and hire someone else, etc...

that's my take on why they sub-contract... has MORE PROS THAN CONS in my opinion...

that's why NJ (my state) subcontracts "much of motor vehicle" ...lot cheaper or they wouldn't be doing it...

don't have a LOT OF EXPENSIVE PENSION/MEDICAL BENEFITS, etc. to WORRY ABOUT OR DEAL WITH...

so China is building it's own cities and CONSUMERS to replace those in the WEST (ala U.S. and Europe)

1. Ocnf at about a 1.00 dollar IS CHEAP.

2. Since, we have been at this "dollar price" range for a while... and most investors aren't EXPECTING A BIG SURPRISE IN EARNINGS...

this means to me, THAT IT IS "NOT LIKELY" WE "GO BELOW" these obviously pessimistic levels.

3. Earnings announcement is LIKELY TO BE BETTER THAN EXPECTED...
since the "big loss factor" was the depreciation WRITE-DOWN taken in the 2nd qtr... (I figure that THERE WON'T BE A SIMILAR TYPE WRITE-DOWN this 3rd qtr... likely Ocnf would HAVE PUT "ALL THE BAD NEWS" in "one very losing quarter."

So, I expect "positive earnings." Maybe not much, but POSITIVE...

that being said, THE OUTLOOK for China and the emerging mkts is VERY PROMISING... even if you don't believe a U.S. AND EUROPEAN recovery is as "promising" as Wall St. is forecasting....

THIS MEANS that Ocnf HAS AT LEAST...A STABLE GROWTH/RECOVERY POTENTIAL FUTURE... so they get paid in "juan"... with the dollar shaky... who cares...

So, "bottom line" the outlook for Ocnf LOOKS MORE PROMISING AND LIKELY than MANY OTHER U.S. and European stocks/sectors.

So, a dollar a share is cheap... dollar-cost average if you can...

I think we STEADILY "GO UP" from now on....

well Ocnf will probably be a survivor buying up the remains if they/others go down...WITH ALL THEM EXPENSIVE "NEW SHIP" ORDERS...

THAT I TOLD YOU IN PREVIOUS POSTS ...were VASTLY OVERBLOWN...

lot of the biggies probably getting real stressed now with "all them new ships" they CAN'T AFFORD... WON'T GET.... and LOSE HEAVY DEPOSITS...

while "little OCNF" just keeps chuggin' along LIKE THE "LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD!"

Ocnf is lookin' better and better as we go forward...

1. the vol today is 4million... so where's the dilution dumdum

2. Ocnf will NOT ISSUE SHARES at THESE MKT PRICES...

3. I DON'T THINK THERE WILL BE "ANY ISSUES" UNDER 3-5 DOLLARS...and that will be at "MARKET PRICES" not .10 on a dollar...SO THERE IS NO REAL DILUTION EVEN IF THEY DO ISSUE SHARES...which they won't at these prices.

4. NOW FOR SOME REAL LOGIC: BDI ON CAPETOWN ABOUT 40K A DAY...so when Ocnf and other carriers contracts expire they WILL BE COMMANDING HIGHER RATES... and the world economy will STAY AT LEAST AT THESE LEVELS... based on Dow, China, other emerging mkt growth... SO AS CONTRACTS EXPIRE... REVS WILL INCREASE!!!

5. So-called SHARE DILUTION was MAINLY TO POSITION THE COMPANY ...so that NO ONE COULD "BUY UP THE FLOAT" AND "AND DO A HOSTILE TAKEOVER." all Ocnf has to do is issue MORE SHARES TO PREVENT A HOSTILE TAKEOVER by dwarfing the float...

6. INSIDERS ONLY HOLD 12% OF THE FLOAT... GET THIS DUMMY SHORTS...THE STOCK COULD GO TO "O" ...AND OCNF WOULD ONLY LOSE ABOUT 12MILLION... THAT'S NOT EVEN A DEPOSIT ON ONE OF THE USED SHIPS THEY BUY...

7. BOTTOM LINE: all you have to do is "fence sit" THIS STOCK and when the BIG INSIDERS (the ones YA Global will sell shares to...and dwarf the whole float by-the-way)JUMP ON...then UP WE GO!

...the STOCK WILL RECOVER NICELY... LIKE PROBABLY 5. PLUS A SHARE, what with the BDI up 800pts - showing a solid recovery WHICH MEANS THE 40K PER DAY RATES WILL AT LEAST HOLD IN THAT RANGE GOING FORWARD... MEANING OCNF will make "good dollars" going forward.

OF COURSE you can LET THESE "PAID SHILLS" who probably work for those same "big money block traders" TRY TO DRIVE THE STOCK DOWN...SO THEY CAN GREEDILY SOAK UP "MOST OF THE FLOAT TOO" ...like the big-bucks they're gonna make on the big-block share issue ain't enough...

so, don't let these "whores" get you to SELL YOUR FLOAT SHARES...

they're are gonna go 3-5-higher IN THE FUTURE... so it's just a WAITING GAME...

he thinks Ocnf has potential of "several multiples" even with "poor earnings" ... and to me the 3rd qtr earnings appear to be LIKELY to be "positive." So, weigh his analysis, and couple that with the strong prospect of "good 3rd qtr" plus SIGNS ECON/BDI going UP consistently...

all these factors SPELL significantly better future for Ocnf.

...I think WE TURNED THE CORNER HERE... and by the end of the week we will reach levels THAT WILL BE THE NEW "CONTINUING UP" POINT...

good sign for probable earnings to be announced next Monday 11am on 2Nov09 on Ocnf.

...you've seen this pattern before... Ocnf UP BIG before earnings last two quarters... and THAT WAS WHEN OUTLOOK FOR "WORLD ECONOMY" WAS MUCH MORE NEGATIVE...

you're being scammed by big money... THEY ARE GONNA LOAD "UP" THIS WEEK... are you going to miss THE BIG WAVE UP???

Ocnf real bargain at 1.03 or so... we'll see at least 1.65 by end of this week...that's my take...

look at a 6month chart... Ocnf POPS UP BIG... just prior to earnings for the last two quarters...

and earnings/propects are MUCH BETTER with the economy definitely on a comeback... BDI up 800% in just one month since last week of Sep09...

your move... the "relatively small float" might not show this so much, BUT WHEN BIG MONEY PILES IN later this week, you'll SEE THAT THIS WAS AN "OBVIOUS CALL" FOR A BIG UP!!!

DRYSHIPS REV EXCEEDS ANALYSTS...

things are starting to "look good!"

...plus, you know earnings will almost certainly be better than the 2nd qtr... with the big writedown already taken...

11:00AM on MONDAY 2NOV09

now, the FACT THAT THEY ARE SCHEDULING FOR "11AM" sounds like THEY EXPECT TO ANNOUNCE "BETTER THAN EXPECTED NEWS"...usually bad earnings often are after "mkt close" ...so they CAN MAKE EXCUSES, FOR THE POOR PERFORMANCE ...like they did in Aug09 with the "huge writedown."

well, the WRITEDOWN was ALREADY TAKEN... so I'm expecting MUCH BETTER NUMBERS...

I wouldn't want to be out... specially since DOW probably gonna hit 11,000 in Nov... and BDI, etc. WILL ALL START RISING...

...AND FENCE SITTERS WILL BE THINKING DRYBULK LOOKS CHEAP...after-all APPLE COMPUTER already hit 200...no big potential LEFT THERE...

SO, WHAT DO YOU BUY... drybulk, and particularly OCNF (not getting into financial difficulty BUYING "NEW EXPENSIVE SHIPS" that are probably gonna be late to deliver, or cancelled due to credit finance problems...)

my thinking,

drybulk sector is cheap... and OCNF looking good as laggard in sector...
