I started out as a chemical engineer in the private sector for 9 years then spent the next 20 years in the US Air Force working in the information technology field. After retiring from the Air Force I spent the next 7 years as a defense contractor and then retired permanently. I received an MBA from Renssellaer Polytechnic Institute. Retired in September 2011 (under age 60 I might add).
I started investing in 1977 exclusively with equity and income mutual funds. Since retirement I have the time to manage my own portfolio and now manage a portfolio of income and growth stocks as well as bonds. I now spend my time fine tuning my portfolio to ensure I will never have to work again.
