About: I work as an engineering technical writer for one of the big service provider and enterprise network communication companies (switches, routers, data center networks, the software to run them, that sort of thing). I came to investing late and am playing catchup. After trying to figure out investing in "what I know" (high tech) and repeatedly failing to learn the lesson that just because the technology is the best doesn't mean that the company will succeed, I eventually turned to dividend growth investing and figured out that boring companies are not boring. I'm finishing a slow transition that I started after the 2008-09 market correction, but that transition has already paid, well, dividends. I joined SA to learn more about dividend growth investing and have been very pleased to find many excellent articles, both technical and conceptual.
